They clearly sold my personal information to an outside party. It is hard to go into specifics since I do not want to put my info or situation out there, but it is obvious that it was them due to the fact that it was specific information I had not physically given out anywhere else and then suddenly there were calls based on that info within a week of applying here to family members of mine. Just be prepared for whatever info you give them to be sold off, including phone numbers of family members that you put down for emergency contacts, etc. Whatever you put on your application they will sell to a third party.

Mixed feelings about my time at Berrytree. My personal experience is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment on the top floor. The apartments themselves are pretty spacious—aside from the kitchen and bathroom area—it's been overall quiet enough from neighbors, although the trains are quite loud as a crossing is close by, and the rent is decent. Maintenance requests during the school year and before the pandemic were usually pretty quick, with some caveats discussed below. I never had a problem with the front desk staff or packages being stolen. However, when I first moved in I noticed that that carpets weren't even vacuumed, let alone professionally cleaned. It was unsettling the amount of dust and hair my vacuum picked up. The paint is a cheap white paint they must slap on the walls every year or two, with plenty of paint getting on the counters, doorknobs, and fixtures. There has been a persistent problem with the heat continuing to stay on despite the thermostat being turned off; it can be 81 F inside the apartment with all the windows open while it is cloudy and 60 F outside. Also, if you want a carport, know that you will have to pay for it for the remainder of the lease with way to cancel it—this wasn't explicitly stated when I was purchasing mine. Also, DTN management has had a very lackluster response to the global pandemic, by just waiving late fees for a week into April or offering a 0% loan of $500 with only a week to apply for said funds.

Do not live in this apartment complex unless you have golden health insurance. My husband and I have lived here for nearly 6 months. Since we moved in, we have experienced 3 occasions of serious water leaks (one occasion culminating in the collapse of our living room ceiling and forcing us to move to another unit in the middle of January). Additionally, the heat has gone out at night (MICHIGAN WINTER NIGHT) on 5 separate occasions in January and February. We have consistently reported this to the leasing office and consistently “fix” the problem for several days until the heat goes out again. Last time I checked the health insurance is not included in their rent so make sure you have a good one before you move in so at least you can enjoy the heat in hospital. Do not think we’re the only tenants are experiencing all the problems above. The maintenance team is the busiest one I have met in a DTN community, they’re working none stop to slow the building collapse. Will add more comments when the heat is back, after all it’s too cold to type this many words in a freezing apartment. ********* Updates: heat went out a few more times after the initial comments. Also I do have the audio recording of your staff stating other people have notified them about the heat went out and the maintenance team was working on it when I went to leasing office report the issue, so please don’t lie about it. Also took a screenshot of your comments in case you change your story again. I will work on contacting all the residents in the building to collect a joint statement about the heat issue because I am not the only one contacted the office about the repeating heat issue and I’d like to collect evidence to reserve my legal rights for being wrongfully accused.
