      image I used to love coming to REI. They had great gear and helpful associates. I purchased a pair of Oboz boots there a few years ago. I was reassured by the associate that the boots would absolutely not delaminate...ever. Guess what? They started delaminating at the toe. I tried to return them to no avail. The associate suggested I get some "shoe goo" and fix them myself. I understand that the boots were out of warranty. However, I only wear my hiking boots while hiking, I would say I wore them 3 dozen times.
      I guess the moral of the story is: don't bother with "high end" gear anymore. It's not worth the money.
