I just wanted to share my experience with Ashlar Flats; I've had great experiences with Brian, JJ and the other men supporting the maintenance needs for the complex. They always go above and beyond!
In addition I would like to say the staff at the office, Crystal in particular have done a great job in communicating and in providing excellent customer service.
I was very leery when the complex changed hands to Ashlar Flats and was not a big fan of the rent increase however I know that that is happening everywhere and hopefully that won't be the case going forward since cost of living has also greatly increased.
But so far I'd say the staff have won me over, so thank you all for what you do!

Don't give up on communicating with the new management at Ashlar Flats. Mickie, the new manager is exceptional. She patiently listens to you and then speaks with you in a professional and courteous manner. Some things can be accomplished and some things cannot, but she tries to be fair and respectful at all times. Becca (office staff) and Brian (maintenance staff) are excellent additions. Both are pleasant, helpful and professional.

I waited for months to share this feedback. Had lived between March 2017 to June 2023.
First 5 year went without issues, nominal rent & good service.
Then they sold this property and here comes new management with lots on improvement plan on paper which really didn't help anything inside your property.
-> They increased monthly rent way higher than anyone can think off. Reason, its happening across the neighborhood.
-> They took control of water bill which all of the sudden starting going high without change in your usage. And you have to pay some extra fees because they outsource someone to maintain ledger.
-> They starting charging you for common area lights, but guess what most of the lights were not running but you are asked to pay.
-> Starting charging separately for garbage which was never the case.
-> Service was next to none. Reason, they are new and don't have good people to get hired.
-> They break the only facility on property ( swim pool) and guess what it was not ready for 2023.
So, get ready to pay some $150ish on top of your monthly rent.
I had to break lease for some reasons, so I had to give 60 days notice and 2 months addition charges. It wasn't their fault but they could show some grace to me knowing I lived there for 7 years.
Property manager, listen to my complaints but I guess she had no power to fix any of the thing.

Concerning your lease break fee, it's important to note that the fees are outlined in our lease, and due to fair housing regulations, anyone who breaks their lease must be charged the lease break fee.
