One bedroom apartment on the ground floor, I lived in it for 12 years, of which 11 years the lease was in my name. I moved out of there in the summer of 2019. I don't think there have been big changes since then. I want to tell you what happened during these 12 years; maybe it will help you to have an idea about this place of residence. For 12 years of living, the carpet has never changed, despite the fact that the carpet was inherited from previous tenants, the walls during 12 years were never painted, after I moved out, they withheld 230$ for painting the apartment from the security deposit. Really over the years I have not paid them for the painting?.
Because my apartment is on the ground floor with a parking under the windows, many elderly people, especially the disabled, wanted to get this apartment, there was a queue of people. The administration rushed to various tricks to expel me and instill someone, I suspect they do it for a gift. Each time they came up with different tricks to pushing me out and make my life unbearable. One month they pretended not to have my rent check, paid by the bank, and I had to pay late fee additional to monthly rent. They came up with a story that my neighbors were complaining that I was violating parking rules but could not prove it. Radon gas, the builders did not do research and built a complex on the field of radon gas, a radioactive gas that is slowly killing people. Now for 5 years I see a hematologist in the initial stage of leukemia. I'm glad I moved out of there to avoid the progress of the disease.
A separate story when they made remodeling, but only the kitchen. The first thing the builders did; they installed a dumpster under my window, after which the apartment was filled with buzzing flies. the second thing they ruined the kitchen. Previously, in the kitchen was a window in the door to the backyard and there was some kind of light in the kitchen, now the door is metal deaf. The cabinets were changed from light to black; there was white linoleum, now floor became black. Now in the kitchen, no matter how much you put additional lighting, its dark as in a coffin; its hard to see what is cooking. They moved the refrigerator to another wall and now there is no telephone jack in the kitchen. Removed light fixture above the kitchen sinks. In the living room, the nice thermostat was replaced, with junky one. I could not use it because could not see small letters on the display, to adjust temperature I used magnified lens. I want to buy my own thermostat; they said that only such a thermostat corresponds to apartments for the disabled!!! Straight after remodeling they increase rent by 70$ per month.
In the apartment there is no basement, the carpet is laid on plywood, and the plywood lies directly on the ground, so the floor is always wet, things that stand on the floor and absorb moisture are spoiled. In winter, the floor attracts cold because it is damp. If you have problems with apartment's equipment, you need to call the dispatcher of the company, who barely speaks English, the dispatcher sends your work order to the management of the complex, they send this order for maintenance department and the maintenance guy decides when to come to you, two times happened to me to call dispatch 4 days in the row. I want to emphasize this is my personal review of how I lived in this complex.
