Budget Car Rental

These are the 2 FRONT TIRES! I had a rental for a week. I missed a whole day trying to get customer service to give me another car! Then roadside wanted to charge me to tow it. Tire worn down to the white meat and little to no tread. In winter!

Update: After receiving my review, Buget promptly contacted me and I was refunded for the fuel overcharge. I am pleased with the resolution. *********************************** The car was rented out to me with low tire pressures. The employee indicated it was due to the change in weather and the air in the tire was fine. Well, I checked the tire pressure indicator in the car and the tire pressure was 27/ 28 when it should have been 35. The employee should have rented me a car with correct tire pressure. There were plenty of cars available. I shouldnt have had to put air in the tires, when they had cars in inventory. Then, I returned the car the next day and was charged $18 for fuel when I returned the car with a full tank. Very unprofessional.

On Jan 15, 2024 I went through Priceline. Paid my collision fee online. I got there and they said they could only take credit card not debit. So they couldn't rent it to me... Was never told this online. Waste of time. I don't use credit cards and they don't work around that. Went a few minutes up the street and enterprise took care of me in 10mins. No credit card needed. Just a deposit. Eventually got my collision fee back. The guy at the front desk was great though. He was as professional as one can be

I just want to say that the customer service from the associate Travon was exceptional considering that he was the only person there and he was dealing with some rough customers before it was my turn. Now the rental itself. First I had a reservation for a gas friendly car because I was going a distance. Not only did they not have a car, they didnt have any car or small SUV. I ended up getting a truck. it was terrible on gas. I ended up spending twice more what I expected because of it. If budget would have had enough vehicles on the lot to accommodate walking and reservations I would have gotten what I needed and stayed on budget. I normally like upgrades but this was definitely a downgrade

Return location in Crabtree Mall in Raleigh is almost impossible if you are from out of town. Agents don't answer the calls (they let it rollover to the main Budgetline, which was also ineffective). Finally had to park in the mall lot and walk around looking for the Budget office. Wasted 45 minutes driving around and meandering inside the mall just to return the car. Only if they had better signage, agents who picked up the phone, and better information in their database for the 800-number customer service to access and help customers with directions.
