Needed a van at the last minute. Renting was quick and easy and the pricing was not bad. Staff was very friendly.

This score is not because the service is bad. I rented a car to use for 4 days just to SanDiego and back to Modesto. Returned the car even with full tank of gas and I was told that I will receive my safety deposit after a few days and after they check the car for damages,mileage and so on. So I said that's fair enough. 10 days later I have not received my safety deposit back. I called them and they said that they gave me my safety deposit 4 days after I returned the car. They told me that there's something wrong with my bank and that I have to take it up to them and so I did. The bank told me that Avis never even attempted to return to my safety deposit, so my bank told me to file for fraudulent charge and the bank will talk to Avis, so my bank gave me my safety deposit back. NOW, GUESS WHAT AVIS DID! THEY TURN AROUND AND PUT THAT SAME AMOUNT OF MY SAFETY DEPOSIT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY! THE AUDACITY! FIGHTING THE $80 IN COURT IS NOT WORTH IT. DON'T EVER RENT AVIS! SCAM RENTALS. THIS IS A WARNING ENTERPRISE IS LESS STRESSFUL GO THERE INSTEAD.

I have tried both locations in Modesto now. Both need to do way better. I was enticed with a deal to rent again, so I tried. Had an 8 day rental for a great price, took one hour to check out the car. I turned the car in and notice a charge for $50. I tried calling, they just wont answer the phone at all. Enterprise is your best bet for customer service and you wont be charged with unknown amounts.
