Fairfield Inn by Marriott Charlotte Northlake

I'm a Marriott guy, have been for years. I have status, but don't expect to be treated any better than the next paying customer. Having said that, I expect decent, timely, friendly service, which I did not get at this Fairfield Inn. I had to call for help when I arrived - after waiting for a while, at which point a person very slowly saundered out, and without a hint of a smile or any mention of making me wait, checked me in. Usually I get a "Thank you for being s Platinum..." and an offer of a gift, but nothing. Basically, here's your key. My room was ok, but the bathroom is in serious disrepair, with a stained tub floor and large chips in the tub, just painted over. By far the worst example of a Fairfield Inn I've ever experienced.

Location is great my favorite restaurant is in walking distance, the staff is perfect. Friendly courteous and understanding. The rooms are spacious the one I got this time because I go once a month; at least, was not cleaned very well. I mean it was ok but to match the service and location the house keeping needs to pay better attention to detail like fingerprints on mirrors and slight molding in bathtub area. I wish the pool had been open it was a warm day could have been perfect for swimming. All in all I would recommend this hotel and will be back to visit soon

First room , the sheets had blood or some other reddish-brown stains on them. Toilet was leaking. They switched rooms and it was a little better, but overall I would not stay again. Very disappointed

Horrible experience. The staff are dense and not helpful. The vent in my room couldn't be shut off, so I had allergy problems all night, aside from lots of road noise. There's usually no one at the desk, so myself and other guests had to stand for a while before finding someone. I tried calling, but the girl didn't answer. She was on her personal phone. Brutal

Great service at this Fairfield. Let me tell you, the staff here from the front desk to the breakfast attendant are all so friendly, helpful, and accommodating! The location is a little isolated, but is near the Northlake Mall which is nice. There are no sidewalks and the roadway is almost a highway, so walking is a bit of a doosey. If you have a car, it is very conveniently situated off I-77 and just about 2 minutes to the ramp for I-85. As for the property, it is nice and consistent with the older generation of Marriott's Fairfield branded hotels. The rooms are clean and comfy but there is some need for updating or renovation, soon. Still, I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker or anything, yet. Final thoughts: the property needs updating but passes muster for a Marriott brand, the staff are absolutely lovely, and yes I would stay here again and even recommend it as an option to oyhers traveling through the area. Walkability: Ha! I mean you can walk but it'll be a bit scary without a sidewalk and the treffic traveling at highway speeds. Still, I walked to the mall and I survived to write this post.
