To visit Las Vegas for the first time, with good rates, and on the Strip.
Keep in mind: you pay separate parking ($18) and there is an extra service fee per room!

Lots of kids running around downstairs, seems like one of the more kid friendly establishments on the strip. It is midevil castle themed. Service was amazing here during our short stay.

Excalibur is a great hotel with an excellent location on the strip. Good service but the beds leave something to be desired as they are extremely uncomfortable and hard!!! Woke up with sore back.

The room was sub-par and outdated. Other than an old TV, iron and hairdryer, there nothing to mention in the room. Because theres no fridge or coffee machine you are left to venture downstairs for a coffee $6 CDN) or a beer (12 CDN). That adds up. The casino has minimal waitress action compared to Fremont bars, which means you dont get the complimentary drinks while gambling that you get at Fremont Street hotel/casinos. And of course theres the added fees (service, resort or just Vegas) that you get added to your room stay.
I would stay on Fremont next time. Free entertainment and people-watching, inexpensive beers in shops, and more street-side restaurant options. Also, because the casinos are more compact, servers come by your machine more frequently. Also because everything is within walking distance, Uber costs are kept to a minimum and you can always venture to the strip on the bus or Uber/Lyft.
Once checked out, another line up to check bags for a few hours while waiting for the time to leave for the airport - more food, drink and, if choosing, gambling costs.
Overall, not very happen with Excalibur as a place to stay.
Rooms: Outdated with glued surfaces peeling (wall decorations, wallpaper, shower stall paint -no tub).
