Never saw the landlord face to face. Always had to communicate via text. The place was beat up when I looked at it but I thought they would come fix the issues before I moved in. I eventually fixed a lot by myself including heater vents and a leaking sink and fridge. The power was split off between three units incorrectly. The electrician I talked to said their wiring was outdated and poorly installed. The meter was always off so my power bill was $13 one month (too low to be a real thing) and the next bill shot up suddenly to $78 which was also the same month the tenants below us moved out. It was a nightmare sorting out the meter errors. The landlord also failed to inform me that the electric breaker was in another part of the house that the other tenants lived in. After the breaker was thrown one day we went without power for 2 days after many ignored messages to management and later found out that the neighbors below had the box inside their place! There was mold in the bathroom and an unsafe laundry room that won't vent. This was a huge obvious issue that i was told would be fixed right before i moved in or shortly after and that never happened. I moved in cuz I thought they would fix all that before but I was wrong. Make sure to Document everything before moving into any of their properties!! Toward the end of my lease they had "potential buyers" there looking to take over the entire building. Every other day they would announce by email that strangers would be walking through the house even when I told them that only minors would be home during their given walk through times and I needed to schedule for a time when I would be home from work. They ignored that request and my kids were very uncomfortable having random people walk in to assess the property. My lease was ending but they told me they sold the building and wrote a formal letter asking me to leave because the whole place had sold...but then I witnessed others moving people in downstairs...I tried talking to them about this and was ignored.. Like always! I was in a bad car accident that delayed my process of moving out and knowing that I had little help and was injured they still harassed me daily by text message of course about getting their keys ASAP. Andrea was the only one who showed any kindness during this struggle...No communication, no maintenance, dishonest and they obviously don't care about people or the conditions of their properties.
