Alamo Rent A Car

Very helpful staff and worked hard to make our rental experience positive. Our car was struck by a rock shattering the windshield. Alamo made it easy to get a replacement vehicle and were more than fair in handling the damage claim. Thanks Alamo we will be back.

I have always had great service from Alamo. They are my usual go-to car rental company when I visit Hawaii. This visit was no different. I'm just glad I was able to get a vehicle considering COVID issues. Costs were higher during this visit, but they weren't a surprise and they were also understandable considering COVID issues. Staff has always been courteous and friendly. We were able to pick whichever car was available in our size class. Pick-up and return was quick and easy.

I rented this car from the Lihue, Kauai location. Ive rented vehicles from one of Alamos competitors at this same airport location on several prior occasions. Each of those rentals began with extremely slow shuttle service and even slower counter service. In contrast, the Alamo experience was excellent. The shuttle was prompt and the service representative at the rental counter was fantastic. In fact, Id go so far to say that in my many years of renting vehicles, she was the best customer service person Ive ever dealt with. She was very efficient, courteous and handled a slight glitch with my rental (self induced I might add), with the utmost patience and professionalism. This car rental location is the best!

The first car we got was problematic and lasted about 4 days before it had to be returned. Check engine light came on. On returning I was having an issue with finding the window controls and heard the agent say "He can't even figure out how to roll down the windows". to another agent. Should have said something at the time but was tired after a long day and had a long drive ahead. That is why only 3 stars. Service was very good otherwise. Second car was excellent and performed above and beyond expectations. Would I rent from Alamo again? Yes, and I plan to when I return to Kauai in March of 2023.

We rented a full size car from Alamo on Kauai air Lihue for 11 days. Even though it was during the time of the car crunch in April 2022 there were 4 full size cars to choose from. Our car was a full size Nisan equipped with Apple Play. There was no big sales pitch at the counter to buy a bunch of stuff you dont need. Charges were exactly as quote. Pickup took a few minutes but not bad and check in on return was very fast.
