This is TOO OLD BUILDING and NOT SAFE AT ALL. In a year I lived here (2019-2020), there were too many FAKE Automatic Fire Alarm (even early morning 3:30 am and 4:30 am) and ONE is true. The problems at that time was nobody believed that was true. Thatwere awful !!!! Moreover, they have 2 elevators but one was damaged and whole building just use the same elevator during Covid19 time. I hate to say but DONT waste your money in this building. Its NOT WORTH

My wife and I have lived here for the past 5 years. While the apartments are spacious and the staff are friendly and competent (especially the front desk workers), the quality of life in this building has plummeted drastically in the past year under Spruce Street Commons management. Extensive, building-wide apartment renovations have meant continual construction noise during the day which is a huge annoyance for those who work from home due to the pandemic. Workers walking around maskless is a common sight. Due to the construction, 8-hour water shut offs during the day have become an almost-weekly occurrence and the management has been dishonest about the extent of the water shut offs on multiple occasions (we were notified that the hot water would be shut off when in actuality all water service was suspended). No comment from any of the 5 people Ive contacted about this. Elevators are extremely old and bandaid fixes causes them to be down often. There was an extended period this year where both elevators were down and residents were forced to take the freight elevator (with a porter, during a pandemic). Were also being forced to move out of our current apartment in June because of the aforementioned renovations, with no options available to us that would give us the same amount of space for similar rent that wouldnt also require us to move again in a year due to planned renovation of those units. These renovations are also going to severely crowd the floor plans (for example, our 1 BR 1 BA apartment is going to made into a 2 BR 2 BA). One of the only things the building had going for it was the large open spaces, but that will soon be a thing of the past. While were still considering transferring to another apartment in the building due to the stress and hassle of moving (especially during a pandemic), any prospective tenants should know what living here will be like for the foreseeable future.
