Octagon The

I’ve lived in Octagon for the last 6 months, and it has been a wonderful experience. From the moment I first talked to Lindsey, the leasing specialist, I immediately felt that Octagon is a place set apart from the rest. In addition to superb amenities, a hidden gem of a location, and comfortable, spacious floor plans, it offers a warm, friendly, caring atmosphere, and a true community feel. Everyone on the staff is warm, welcoming, and extremely professional. The moment I step through the door of the lobby, I am greeted with a friendly smile which makes me feel right at home. And whenever I have any requests, they are addressed immediately and with great efficiency. A special word about community activities. The fitness classes are superb - I am not a novice to yoga (and neither are my fellow co-residents), and our yoga instructors are excellent. The 24 hour gym is on par with the best in the city (and more convenient), and the pool is an absolute life saver during hot New York summers. Party rooms are amazing for hosting planned or impromptu get-togethers, and the outdoor entertainment area with multiple grills and cabanas make it possible to entertain in the city as one would in a well-appointed suburban backyard. One of my concerns was moving to the island was how easy/hard the commute was going to be to my workplace in Manhattan. Well, it is simply not an issue. With free Red Buses coming around every 5-10 minutes during rush hour and stopping right in front of Octagon, you can get to the subway station or Tram in under 8 minutes. Not to mention that it’s a lovely and easy walk from Octagon to subway/Tram/ferry. Finally, a word about Roosevelt Island. If you are going to raise a family in Manhattan, you’d be hard pressed to find a calmer, friendlier, more family-oriented community with its multiple playgrounds, a farmer's market, a library, a music/art program for kids, not to mention a preschool and several great schools all within walking distance from home.

The Octagon has everything I am looking for in an apartment community. Its not just a place to live! They take out all the stops to ensure a wonderful living experience for residents of all walks of life. They have amenities which satisfy very need. The units are clean and building/grounds are well kept. The neighborhood is beautiful and so close to Manhattan without the hustle and bustle. I highly recommend The Octagon!
