A revolving door for primary care and specialist doctors. Appointments canceled with no notice because doctors or the nurse practitioners quit. Had a couple of conversations and was told they were fed up with the VA bureaucracy and how hard it was to provide the necessary to the veterans in their care.

I am giving it a 3. The VA itself is pretty fast when going to the doctor and ER dept. However when you call, its a nightmare. At the beginning of the call they say "if you have thoughts of suicide..." by the end of the first 2 mins on the call, trying to get to the right department makes you wanna get violent" their customer service sucks worst than stepping on a rusty nail and its not just one person or department. it was at least 3 different departments that gave me wrong information or hung up on me.

After the 1973 Arab/Israeli Yom Kippur War we were up on the DMZ alot along the Imjim River and the deviding fence separating North Korea from South Korea and it was getting very, very cold . We were eating C-Rations every day with the 4th Squadron/7th Air Calvary "Gary Owen Sir "attached to the 2nd Infantry Division "Second to none ". All of a sudden we could not only see the Mess Truck coming but smell it too and made some of us cry that we we not forgotten. After dumping our leftovers in a garbage cans, a few Korean men from a nearby village sat down on some crates with chop sticks and started eating the cold leftovers and we were worried about eating C-Rations again.
