Holiday Inn Express & Suites Phoenix/Chandler (Ahwatukee

Converted to an Armed Guarded Government Facility temporarily housing illegal aliens caught crossing the border of Mexico, before releasing them into the surrounding neighborhood. I was nearly arrested for walking into the parking lot out of curiosity as to what was going on there. I will never patronize a Holiday Inn again as long as I live. I am so offended that I would be "detained" for trespassing onto Holiday Inn Express private property when that property is housing and dining and providing free health care and legal services to hundreds of people who were just caught illegally trespassing into the US. What Irony!

I booked this hotel with Expedia during my twelve hour drive from Colorado Springs. When I arrived, the staff required a Credit card with my name on it to place a $25 hold. This seems reasonable, however I had just lost my card that week, and I hadn't yet gotten my replacement. I only had my husband's credit card. I also had three kids in the back seat, ages 1, 2 and 4. I told the staff member that I had no card with my name on it, that I just drove 12 hours and had three tired kids in the car. His only response was for me to leave and cancel my reservation with expedia. So, he was turning a mom, with three kids, away from a room I already paid for because I didn't have a physical debit card for him to place a $25 hold. To say I was upset was an understatement. I had checked into a Hampton Inn the night before with no issues. If other hotels can manage this problem, Holiday Inn needs to as well. This was unexpectable service. ***This happened at the beginning of March, but I just thought of it again, now, and realized I only left my review with Expedia, and not, also, with Google. That staff members selfishness still upsets me. If every hotel said that to me, for a room I already paid for, just because I did not have a card with my name on it, I would have been in the streets with three kids. Absolutely, ridiculous.***was

The hotel cannot be so cheap when it comes to bathtubs and just adding a bunch of compound to hide all the rust and cracks. They need to replace them. When I went to the front desk to ask for a new room I was told to come back down later in the afternoon to speak to the manager since they couldn't give me one. The manager said it was just cosmetics and gave me a room with the bathtub "fixed." We also had a fire alarm go off at 3am. No announcement that everything was OK. I had to keep calling front desk to make sure I didn't need to run out of the building. I'm surprised there are no cameras everywhere there is a fire alarm to make sure they know why it was set off to begin with.

As someone who refrains from awful reviews, they get mine without even staying there. We booked here coming in from Minnesota, never having been to Phoenix, and a week before our stay they cancel our reservation due to "renovations" No sorry, no here is a solution. Now I'm scrambling to save our spring break.
