Ive been at the Modera for 2 months and already know I will not be resigning when my lease ends. I highly recommend you look at other apartments in the area when deciding where to live. Apartment Unit: 4/5 I really love my unit. I like the finishes overall and there are new, high-tech appliances. The layout of the apartment is very cookie-cutter to Arlington. The apartments do not get a lot of natural light. I may have an hour or two of sunlight a day. The lighting in the apartment is also pretty bad as there is no overhead lighting in bedroom, and the only overhead lighting in the main area of the apartment is two lights in the kitchen. The building is a concrete structure so noise between units is minimal, however, there is a ton of street noise and it is a very busy road. Amenities: 3/5 The amenities are average/below average for the area. There is nothing really unique about having a dog spa or the common area amenities such as shuffleboard table/pool table, which can be seen at many other apartments in the area. There are grills, a tv, fire pit and hammocks in the common area outside which are not really used. There is no rooftop. You can rent some of the appliances that are seen in the window in the lobby and there is a little corner store, which has snacks and such. Ive seen this at a few other apartments in the area but it is a slightly more unique feature. Each resident is required to have internet through WhiteSky which is $65 a month. There are no options for different speeds and while you can have quick service it is not more helpful than telling you to disconnect and reconnect. I have had some issues streaming shows and low graphics speeds at times. Management: 1/5 Management is all over the place and for an apartment that has been open for over a year, it still feels like they cant figure anything out. The phone is pretty much never answered so forget trying to get a hold of anyone at the front desk or main office and there is only one email for the entire apartment complex. Whoever manages it is nonresponsive and rude consistently. When I had an issue with parking they told me I could start parking in the street if I didnt like the parking situation. They also offered to move my car spot to a worse location once it was escalated to the manager. There is high turnover with concierges, and it seems they are still navigating how to have friendly and polite staff. Parking: 2/5 Parking is $200 a month which is somewhat expensive/on average for the location. That being said it is extremely limited. They have been doing a parking audit for the past two months with no end in sight, and will not inform residents of the timeline for this audit. There are many empty visitor and "clean car" spots. They are also putting massive cars in compact spaces which make it harder to get out at times. Apartment employees also use regular spots rather than the empty visitor spaces. Residents are only allowed to have one car for every one bedroom apartment and only two cars for every three bedroom apartment. Im unclear why they stating that theyre parking is full when there are so many empty spots at all hours and are giving priority parking to employee over residence Maintenance: 5/5 Maintenance is great! They are extremely responsive and very friendly. They always help address my issues and have been really great to work with. Security: 4/5 Overall I feel the building is secure due to the requirement to swipe into the front door and elevators. The concierge is not very helpful against preventing people to come in except when you actually need something delivered and this seems to be when they will not allow someone upstairs. The concierge also only work until 11 PM with the apartment claiming to have the goal of having 24/7 concierge at some point. There was a car break in within the 2 months I have been here and we have not received any further updates. There is also graffiti in the parking garage which has been there throughout my time living here.

We love living at Modera Clarendon! Its a well maintained building with friendly staff. Great location - walking distance to all that Clarendon has to offer. Within a 5-10 minute walk to Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, and Giant. We had a great tour with Douglas and Alex initially, which led us to signing and moving in this month. Also a very pet friendly apartment, which we love!
