Avis Car Rental

We were treated special as we were Indians. He said that he would make sure that we never get to rent a car from Avis ever Again. All of this is just because we used wrong promotion code which should be used by some specific people. We even apologized and asked to rent it without the promo code. But NO. NEVER DOING AVIS EVER AGAIN.

Terrible renting experience. The owner is clearly disgruntled and is very rude. I will be taking my future business elsewhere.

I needed to rent either a medium SUV or pick up truck to go finishing moving my kid out of his dorm. I specially chose a location that I could return the vehicle on Sunday as I would only need it for two days tops. I made the reservation and paid for it online. I was expecting to pick it up the following day around noontime. Keep in mind, I have used AVIS while traveling for work and had zero issues ever. I get a call today from a young girl working at the rental place who tells me they can not fulfill my request. Wait, what? Why did you allow me to make the reservation online if you can not fulfill it? I then ask her, "How do you want to fix this? Give me either a medium to large SUV, no problem." She tells me she has nothing to offer me, that she can not get anything at all. She tells me I can cancel the reservation. I tell her, "Fine, cancel my reservation and refund my credit card." She replies, "I can not do that." Wow, this just keeps getting better. She gives me this 800 number for corporate that I have to call to request a reservation. I call the 800 number and the young gentleman who answers offers to find something for me. I tell him I will take anything between San Antonio, Austin, Pflugerville, Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park. The only thing that needs to happen is that the place needs to be open on Sunday so I can drop the car off. I would have been willing to keep the car an extra day if need be as well. He comes back and tells me he is sold out everywhere, including the airport. He makes no attempt to offer me something else, or try to rectify the situation. He tells me, "I am unable to do anything at all for you." Wow, thank you for putting me between a rock and a hard place. I tell him to go ahead and refund my credit card. He tell me he has "put there request in to do so". When I ask how long that will take I ask, "let me guess, 5 to 7 business days?" He quickly tells me, "Yes." Wow, so you will take my money immediately so I can just roll in, grab the car; but, if I have to get a refund, I have to wait 5 to 7 business days. Avis this is not the way to run a car rental company. I do not even know how you are even in business the way you treat your customers. I expected perhaps to have to be put in a different type of vehicle because I am sure trucks are not available in my area. When I was not extended anything, that was disappointing. Ok, you do not have anything available at all. You could have gone, "Sir for your trouble, we will give you a free day on your next rental with us. Sorry for your trouble." Nope, all I got was, "We can not do anything for you and if you want a refund, you need to jump through these hoops."
