Please look elsewhere. This is my first apartment ever, and my worst experience ever. At first it was very nice and management was attentive, its was an easy process, but once we moved in the nightmare started. Dryer broke down, they took a month and a half to replace it management and maintenance do not communicate well. They take forever. Air conditioner broke down leaving black smoke all over the apartment, including walls and all my furniture. This happened in June, and after bothering every day in the 6th day they replace it with another air from a different unit and put my broken one in that unit. The neighbors are a nightmare. There is poor insulation. You can hear absolutely everything and they can hear everything i do. I have been walking in tippi toes to make sure I dont make the guy downstairs angry because he would start blasting music to the point that the floors and walls shake. It has been a total disappointment and I cannot wait to leave. No one should experience this. Work to hard to have a decent place to live and be able to enjoy the little free I have. Since I last posted my bathroom faucet stop working, according to the maintenance guy. They covered the old pipes with new pipes and debris has been collecting to the point that it clogged the faucet. They took a month to replace it, also the boiler started steaming and making horrible noises to the point that I thought it was going to explode. They did check it the next day. The noise problem has not improved. Management does nothing about it. Lets see what happens from 1/15 until the lease its over.

I have lived here nearly a year and refrained from posting a review hoping things could improve. It could be nice, the neighbors are polite and courteous in my building, the unit itself is fine. However, the takeaway is that management just doesn't care and just like the previous owners, this place is a cash grab, taking advantage of renters albeit at higher rates. You pay your rent and get nothing in return. Know your rights as a tenant and know that the city has several resources to assist. Since I have been here, aside from speaking to someone to go ahead with the lease agreement and signing the lease I have not heard or spoken to any of the management. Communication from management is non existent even when it comes to reporting an issue or an urgent maintenance problem. I could call, email, open a ticket multiple times and get no response. The only time I got any kind of response via email (which was usually deflecting the issue at hand) and some kind of action was when I said I would take a legal route or had L&I violations investigated (violations were found unsurprisingly). I've managed to get maintenance out via management a couple times. Maintenance was polite and did their best to help, but it was a total crapshoot. There was no communication from the property manager that maintenance was coming and it was just lucky that I was home to answer the door when maintenance knocked. The summary is management does not care and it is the reason for the poor review. It is a shame. If you want to live here I suggest you review your tenant rights thoroughly, and know that if you experience anything that seems like a violation to report it to 311. I also implore you to check the lengthy reviews from the past year for their sister property 'Oxford House Apartments.' Many of the same issues are reported with management who are responsible for the Downing property as well.
