image I do have the privilege of being a childless & single adult, but I was able to attend the full program & greatly benefited from the continued resources. You have to be open to it, but it really helps with conceptualizing & coping with chronic pain.

image Pros: The providers and support staff, including Marni. Good information.Cons:  Problems with administration and organization of their program increased my stress and pain.  This was made even worse thanks to COVID.Also in orientation and early on they said don't worry about insurance or copays because they're taken care of. Several months after starting massage and acupuncture I got a bill for $300+ of co-pays which I was unable to pay. Thankfully they waived this.I appreciate what they are trying to do.

image When I first heard of this place and had my first phone call with this pain clinic I thought I finally found the one place that would help with all the pain Ive had for years. I spoke to the secretary a couple of times and was never ever explained what the program was about. All she said was We look for people like you who live in chronic pain all the time and we could help them
She said that I would hear back from a man that would help me set up zoom so I could participate in a zoom orientation video. The man did call and did help me set up zoom. He then explained that when it was time to get into the meeting I would be sent a email with a zoom link and I just had to click on it. That email didnt come and my daughter had to call them to get the email and that took forever to get it to work.
Five minutes into the video I noticed that this was nothing that was ever brought up about the program no one discussed the steps for the program with me. If they would have I would have saved myself a-little over an hour of listening to someone tell me that I would have to sit down three times a week for a hour having a group counseling with people I didnt know, would have to see a psychiatrist and a nutritionist and get acupuncture and do yoga that my body would no way be able to handle with how much pain Ive gone through. The man talked way to fast and his charts were a mess to follow.
Fast forward to the next day I get a call from the secretary and I express my feelings to the lady how I felt manipulated, lied to, withheld tuns of information, never given directions on how truly the program worked. She tried to blame everything on the computer guy whos job was to help me set up zoom, she talked bad about him and threw him under the bus when he was the one who did his job. She claimed it was his job to explain the whole program to me and that she was just a scheduler.
The bottom line if the first phone call would have explained the program I would have immediately said this program wasnt for me and I wouldnt have wasted my time with my daughter who I havent seen in years.

image As a mental health professional, I have worked with Dr. Brillhart, a brilliant and empathic clinician. If you want to get to the crux, and thus the healing, of chronic pain, Mid-Valley and its outstanding staff is for you. If you want to get away from the overuse and abuse of drugs, and take more mindful control, Mid-Valley is for you.
