Sleep Inn University Place

You certainly get what you pay for at this hotel - The rooms in this place are not great. We were greeted at out hotel room door with the smell of cigarettes, despite the 'no smoking' sign. There were multiple dysfunctional things in our room, including the lock to the bathroom door. The room itself was not dirty per se, but still was below average. Sadly, these factors and many more ensured one thing - I did not sleep in at the Sleep Inn :(

The floor in the room is dirty. Some strange smells. Windows have never seen cleaning products or a cleaning cloth. The toilet wobbles and the faucet in the shower wobbles. Seals on the door broken. When you shower, the water comes out onto the floor. I had to cover the floor with towels so that I didn't stand in the puddle. Limescale stains and mold. Services = 0 Breakfast a joke. Not even scrambled eggs or fruit. All finished products nothing is fresh. Cardboard plates and plastic cutlery.

My mom and I arrived at this hotel around 11pm and decided to leave shortly after we got into our room. The entire hotel smells of cigarettes and weed. In the foyer, the floors are dirty and the interior balcony window was filthy. The bed sheets were frayed. The fridge had smears in it from old food. There was dried rice on the desk where the tv stood. Crumbs were on the floors and inside the drawers. Our window didnt latch and wouldnt close properly. The shower (no tub in the room) was crumbling apart in one corner and the other corner was dirty. The breakfast area looked old and grimy. We both felt unsafe and we were not willing to stay in a place that reeked of smoke and had no standard of cleanliness. They would not refund us for one night. This hotel needs better work ethic, updating, safety checks, and a thorough cleaning (and probably a new housekeeping manager).
