They are handy to my rental units and used to be helpful but obviously have changed their policies. I am unable to use them consistently due to their poor customer service and in person ordering policy. I order many appliances for my units from various stores and Lowes is one of my go to. In the past, they were very accommodating when I phone in orders since I am in their system. I live in a different house in another state from my units. My credit card does not have the same adress as my rental units therefore I cannot order online since the card does not match the units. On Friday morning, I called in to the appliance department and the appliance guy refused to take the order unless I show up in person even though all my info is in their system. I asked him why not, and he simply said he is only comfortable with in person orders. I called back and spoke with the MOD to place the order and asked if they have any apartment manager programs for discounts as I shop their alot. He told me to drive my local Lowes and ask. I live far from a Lowes and looked online to see that the programs don't apply to me, so I tried to call back to place the order. After repeatedly calling trying to reach the MOD and only getting screened by a female employee who kept answering and disconnecting me. I asked her not to do that again as all I needed was to speak to the MOD to place my order. She said he is too busy and she will take my info and have him call me back....then she hung up again. I find this disrespect and lack of service very frustrating and rude. Fortunately Home Depot across the street has the same pricing and I am all set after one quick call to the appliance department (no need for a MOD)and I received excellent service. Unbelievable that i wasted an entire morning with the Lowes staff. DO BETTER LOWES! You used to be my first choice.
Update: I spoke with the people at the number they provided. Nothing was accomplished. All they told me today, was that the individual stores decide if they take phone orders. If you want to phone order call that 1 800 number....which is impossible to get through...wait for a representative (be patient...this is lengthy) and order there. I am grateful for HD across the street who took two separate appliance orders in store since my ordeal at Lowes. Lowes is my last resort now. Very poor customer service
