image Id give no stars if that was an option. They constantly move my appointments without letting me know because something else pops up for them so they become unavailable. Ive been trying to get seen my my primary care for over a year and he never has time, I ask to be seen by anyone whos available then they cancel appointments at the last minute. They book months out and even if its an emergency theyre unable to see you. I had a serious health episode 7 months ago and they still havent had availability to see me bc of how they reschedule you out of nowhere. When you call for information they are extremely rude. Im not talking about just a bad attitude, Im talking about calling you dumb over the phone and laughing at you which is so unprofessional. I cant explain how much i hate this place.

image Before I leave CHA for good, I would like to tell you the reason why.
First, I moved my kids healthcare to Lahey Primary Care for the same reason that I will never use CHA ever again.
The clinic Union Square Family Health Care at 5 Middlesex Ave, Somerville, MA 02145, has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I'm not talking about the doctors. I'm talking about the front desk staff, the same people the answer the phone and ignore a serious request.
I had a health concern since Wednesday and on Friday I called because I needed my medication. My refill was still under processing at the pharmacy. I called the clinic because this always happens every time I have to refill. I wanted to talk to someone about changing my prescription and the rude under trained front desk staff was not professional at all. Because of people like her that this network is turning into a butcher shop herding cattle for slaughter.
I asked to talk to the nurse, the front desk person said she was going to place a request. Because the other option she gave me was to wait until next Tuesday (for something that I needed help with two days prior). I never got a call so its easy to see that she never placed that request.
Their staff lack empathy and bedside manners. What kind of people are CHA hiring? Does CHA even train these people?
Their staff ignores the fact that they are dealing with people that need help sometimes right away and who are going through something that affects them negatively. For them to ignore a patients needs and to not take a plea seriously shows that this place shouldnt even be functioning.
They dont treat people with decency. They treat us like animals.
And for this reason, I changed my kids network. Now Ill gladly leave too because I have seen that CHA is not a good network. They dont take patients needs seriously.
Specifically, this location. I have dealt with them for seventeen years, and for the past five years things just went from bad to worst.

image The doctor I've been assigned here is nice and helpful, but in practice this place is essentially useless.
Phone wait times are anywhere from 10-45 minutes. The earliest in-person appointment you can possibly get is 2-3 weeks out. This has never changed in the months I've been a patient here.

image Fantastic experience with doctors here this year. I see Dr Miriam Segura Harrison who is excellent. I have been seeing PAs on her team while she has be unavailable. I saw PA Nicolas Sluyter-Beltrao when I had an injury, and he was fantastic. I later PA Amber Geisman regarding the ongoing symptoms from that injury and she was so incredibly helpful. Listened and gave me informed advice and ideas. She assisted me in finding the right type of physical therapy for my needs and I recovered well after that.
More recently I saw PA Ellen Boyle, who listened carefully and ordered testing that helped me address a health issue I've been dealing with since I was a teen. Really listened carefully, took her time explaining and and answering questions, and was so knowledgeable and perceptive.
I can't speak highly enough of the individuals I've named here. The communication has been so thorough and thoughtful. For the first time I feel heard as a patient. I'm getting so used the quality of service that I started to almost take it for granted. Recently had to visit another hospital for a referral and the negative experience there reminded me why doctors and PAs like the ones I've met at CHA union square are a rarity.
