Woods of Eden Glampground

Woods of Eden was our last stop on our 10 day road trip to Maine, and it was a welcome and refreshing change from the boring hotels we stayed at up until that point. We didn't quite know what to expect when we pulled pulled up. We are not a traditional camping family, and it didn't matter. Everything you need is provided for,
First off, the canvas cabin units are big! There was a small kitchen, dining area, full bathroom with a nicer shower then we had at home, and multiple bedrooms. We were worried about bugs at night, but the canvas seals up nicely and we didn't see one bug inside. It was very clean.
The cabins themselves are arranged on a giant wooded lot, and are not on top of each other, so you did get a sense of privacy. The campground is set in a nicely wooded area that seems removed from any kind of civilization, even though we were only 5 miles from Bar Harbor.
There is a communal shed on the property where anyone can get supplies, towels, board games, and other toys that helped entertain our kids. There is also a communal fire pit where all the camp goers congregate after the sun sets, where everyone recounts their tales of hiking in Acadia that day.
There is a 10pm curfew time where you have to reduce your noise, because, you're in the woods, and canvas tents are not soundproof, so you can hear a lot of what's going on around you.
All in all, it was a great experience, especially after being cramped up in small hotel rooms, and it was nice to sit back and have a drink on our cabins front porch while the kids ran around and played. If we did this trip again, we would of just stayed here the whole time. 5 stars.
