WORST BANK IN THE UNITED STATES

Let me explain when bank of the west sold to them our account was with BMO. We had been with bank of the west for over 15 years with not one problem in all those years.. since BMO took over our debit card has been locked 4 times for nonsense reasons.. my wife had a stroke a few months ago and can't speak... we live 80 miles from the closest bank and she gets anxious really bad since her stroke if she has to ride in the car... I explained all this to BMOs, terrible, uncompasionate customer service and three of the 4 times they turned the card off knowing that her anxiety from the drive put her in the hospital is still making me take her to the branch to verify her identity... when I have absolutely all of the information to verify her any questions, they ask I can answer and she has given them permission in writing to talk to me about her account because she can't speak... they still made me drive her 80 miles witch put her in the hospital for the third time. When all they did was look out the window and waved at her then unlocked the card for us she also can't walk due to the stroke needless to say I closed the account... there customer service is horrible they have no human compassion and some of there policies are ridiculous ... I spent 4 hours on the phone explaining her condition to them we've been married for 12 years but she insisted on having separate accounts .. I figured common since and human compassion would allow me to answer the verification questions they ask but no SHE had to even tough she was sitting next to me and and had given them permissionto talk to me.. she could say yes or no so I ask if they could ask her if it was OK for me to talk in her behalf they refused .. any how I almost lost her to another stroke the last time her BP WAS 213 over 121 from the anxiety of the 80 mile ride ... a little human compassion goes a long ways... THE BANK SEEN HER CONDITION AND TRIED ASKING HER QUESTIONS THE FIRST TIME I DROVE HER TO THE BANK I HAD TO ANSWER THERE QUESTION .. AND I GUESS IT WAS OK FOR ME TO TALK FOR HER EVEN THOUGH ACCORDING TO EVEN THE BRANCH MANAGER SHE HAS TO PERSONALLY ANSWER THE SECURITY QUESTIONS.. WHAT PART OF SHE CANT TALK WETHER IN PERSON OR ON THE PHONE DONT THEY U DERSTAND WITH THAT SAID ... ALL I WAS ASKING IS THEY UNLOCK THE CARD THAT THE 6.86 POSSIBLE FRAUD CHARGE WAS SOMTHING SHE PURCHASED ONLINE. IT WAS THE SECOND TIME THEY LOCKED THE CARD DUE TO A PURCHASE FROM THAT COMPANY ..

As of April 1st 2023 I was trying to just get an approval for a mortgage loan. ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Had I read the reviews first. I wouldn't even be writing this. Without details the comments are dead on about the seemingly purposely done delays. I wish I could use names but I'm not sure of the law lol. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN. I will be withdrawing and closing my account ASAP

The short version is their system is unreliable, and their customer service rivals the worst Ive ever seen. If youd like to read the long version, here you go!
I became a customer of BMO national Bank by default, when Bank of the West was acquired by them.
The transition from Bank of the West has been terrible. After creating my own online account, it was immediately frozen when I attempted to verify my local bank account. The message given was, unable to verify. I had no trouble logging in, my Social Security number was a match, and I was able to Enter my information to add my local bank account. Two days later, while attempting to verify the small deposits they use for that purpose, I got the unable to verify lockout.
I spoke with a service representative after waiting for 40 minutes on the telephone, and was assured that the system made an error, and it would be corrected within three business days. That was two weeks ago!
I have an account that is due for payment and the only thing Im trying to do is make that payment! When I called today after waiting 35 minutes I was told the same thing It would be fixed within three business days. I requested a supervisor and it took 15 minutes to get her on the phone. Miraculously, she was able to correct the error immediately.
Im not sure what gives with these folks, but Ill be moving my account.
