Hampton Inn Carbondale

My daughters and I drove down to Carbondale for the Eclipse. Knowing we were going to be checking in quite late on Friday, I called to let them know. They were very friendly and reassuring to me that we would be welcomed when we got there. Upon arrival, they were quick at getting us checked in and our room was ready for us. During our stay, the breakfast was delicious, cooked by the wonderful Margaret! Margaret made sure we had enough to eat, asked if we needed anything, and stayed on top of cleaning tables too so new people could sit down. Truly amazing! We also met Jazz, a fun and energetic woman who made sure all our room needs were taken care of and that we had towels for the pool. She was fantastic! And so fun to chat with! Her energy and joyfulness just added to the enjoyment of our stay. Thank you so much for a wonderful time while down there! If I ever have a reason to come back to Carbondale, I will DEFINITELY be staying here again!

Came down here for the Great Eclipse of 2024. The hotel is full, obviously and the staff particularly Chaz and Margaret have gone above and beyond to make sure everything is in order to handle the big crowds and special occasion. All the items at breakfast were constantly replenished including hot fresh coffee, and free breakfast buffet. Both Chaz and Margaret are working extra hours beyond their scheduled shift to make sure the guest are taken care of! Safety: Nice safe area. Food & drinks: We didn't go out to avoid the crowds during the eclipse, but there is a food truck down the street for easy access food.

This place is a joke. We booked the hotel a year ago and we requested a mini fridge that works. I'm a diabetic who takes insulin daily. It needs to be refrigerated all day. We get here and the fridge doesn't work. It's a joke. I one thing I need and it doesn't work. We requested a new replacement but they say that they can't fix it. I don't recommend staying here. Rooms are not that great. Sub par or below average. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Very minimum interaction with staff. No breakfast at 0800...dry cereal is not breakfast.. very disappointed in rooms as well. It is close to the highway. For a bill of over 200.00 for one night I won't be back.
