University Inn of Carbondale

This place looks old and very run-down. We stayed two nights before the eclipse, and it was not very good. The hotel needs a major face-lift and better service from the front desk. The guy up there while nice didn't seem overly interested in helping us. Just doing the very bare minimum. The service was great from the cleaning staff who also maintained the kitchen area. The rooms looked like management was barely trying. Breakfast was one day hardly anything, and the next day, some hot food. I don't know if without a lot of people staying in that area, they don't need to try. Or perhaps they don't care. It was like here's a building with four walls and a roof. The rest is up to you. If you have a choice in the Carbondale area, try around before coming here.

This place is horrible! It's sad to say that I couldn't give this place at least 1 star if I really wanted to. I was forced to give at least 1 start in order to post the review. Room 217 was filthy; trash on the floor in the bathroom and under the chair that sits in the room, old sheets stuffed behind the bed (to say the least). Staff member Jay said, "the room had not been rented in a month" and "You're acting like it's rain coming from the ceiling". He was very rude, nasty and disrespectful. The police had to be called for me to even receive a refund. So much to say about this place and it's staff Rooms: Filthy is the only way I can describe the room in this place.
