The staff is friendly but the facilities are old and filthy. The sauna is supposed to be closed daily for cleaning but it is certainly not cleaned daily. Id be surprised if it was even cleaned weekly. The floor and benches are also completely coming apart. The whole pool area is disgusting. They really need to hire a cleaning service if the employees arent capable of maintaining a clean environment.

I've been training here for 2 years now and it is always dirty. If you put a jacket on the ground, you'll pick it up with giant dust balls. It weird because people walk around with vacumes, but i don't think they actually use them. I understand 24 hour doesnt invest like they used to, but please just clean the gym better its gross. Everything else is great, and i want to review it better. If it gets consistently cleaner, I'd bump it up to 3 or 4 stars.

I think this is a solid gym, the down fall of this gym is the hours. Im an avid gym goer who relatively close to this location. Unfortunately for me, Im not blessed with much free time and getting in a solid workout after a long day is proving to be difficult due to the early (at least for me) closing time.

The reviews for this location were SO BAD that I simply HAD to see it for myself. As a lifelong food service professional, I know the power that reviews hold in our modern world. I also know it can give the microphone to people who just want to complain and be destructive for their own personal reasons. Having said that, this gym is HUGE, has all the equipment I ( an older dude who hasn't been to a proper gym in a while ) can possibly need, as well as amenities I will probably never use, but still awesome as an option. It's obvious this gym DID have issues at one point, but if I hadn't read the reviews prior to showing up, I wouldn't have noticed any of them. As a matter of fact, after AJ ( awesome front desk personality! ) handed me off to the GM to tend to multiple customers so I could take the tour, a member walked up and commented how great the bathrooms look and how well the attendant was doing to keep it clean. I presume this member was here BEFORE the GM changeover because he seemed relieved that changes were made. Regardless, the changes have obviously been made and are still improving. I must say, to me, the conditions in a gym would have to be very horrible for me to want to take a drive out of my neighborhood to go to another gym. I don't ask much from my gym other than clean weights and machines. Then again, I am NOT a young kid. I was not coddled and know what gyms USED to be like, so this gym is a friggin' paradise compared to the sweatholes I had to frequent in my High School days. Fitness and weight training have come a long way, and this 24 Hour Fitness has definitely stayed with the times. As always, this location is crowded. But a small amount of common sense will tell you why: It's the ONLY gym in the area, AND, yet ANOTHER massive apartment complex was added right next to the Beacon, presumably housing thousands of young, fitness-forward people whom probably don't want to use whatever limited equipment that may be available in those apartment high-rises, so they all work out at the closest "Proper Gym". You guessed it, THIS location. Sure, you can take the drive down 6th to Wadsworth to go to the competing gym, but if you think it's gonna be less crowded, you're kidding yourself. Unless gyms pop up with the frequency of Starbucks or Cannabis dispensaries in Lakewood we are going to have to deal with packed gyms. I know most of us don't like being around people anymore, but being in a crowded gym can be super motivating. Also motivating is the constant presence of trainers who are mostly jacked. The usual gym "attitudes and egos" don't seem to be here. Either that or their earbuds are so deep in their head that they have no time or attention span to tell people they're "doing that wrong" or to lurk over us wondering when we'll be done with our set. This 24 hour fitness location does exactly what a gym is supposed to do, at least, what I want a gym to do: Have weights and machines. Everything else is just icing on a cake that, no matter how well it does its job, will still be complained about by people who were having a bad day. My advice, go in at peak time and check it out. It's a good gym with great employees who are overworked like the rest of the service industry, so give em a break...like your food service workers.
