Count your money before you leave. I was shorted $100 but when I went back to dispute it, they said they were correct b/c the teller register balanced out. While they were willing to verify their teller didn't 'pocket' the amount via their cameras, they were not willing to review the tapes for the actual money hand-off.

I went into this Wells Fargo branch to close my account. Working with a personal banker, I transferred my checking account balance to my new account. I specifically asked to ensure that all pending transactions on my Wells Fargo account would be completed without issue.
The banker assured me that I would not be charged a transfer fee and with that assumption calculated what balance should remain in my Wells Fargo account. I was subsequently charged a fee, causing my remaining balance to fall below the amount needed for my pending transactions. As such my rent check bounced and I was charged an additional $25 by my landlord per our contract. My Wells Fargo account also retained a balance as the expected check did not clear.
I went back into the branch to re-close my account and receive a credit for the $30 transfer fee I was assured I would not be charged. At that point the branch manager, Eugene Tays yelled at me, told me I was a liar, and said the fees were my fault. Eugene was not involved in my account closing prior to that incident and did not have any context on the matter. Still, I'm out $55 and felt accosted as a customer at the bank.
