Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Palm Desert Coachella Valley

Wow, I should've read the reviews before staying here. AVOID this hotel if you have the chance. The customer service here is way below Marriott standards, especially with the manager Chad Michael. Had to change my travel plans last minute to accommodate a work client in the midwest. I expressed this at check in stating that I would need to check out a day early. They said their manager isn't here, but will get back to me with a call before end of day to discuss. Never received a call. Later that evening, a front desk person said she was texting with Chad and he would be able to make an exception and change the rate of my room to accommodate me leaving a day early. The next morning, I go down and see Chad. If you ever have the opportunity to talk with this man, I am sorry. He is not very friendly and handles disgruntled customers very poorly. Chad told me to my face he doesn't have time to deal with customer issues and won't go the extra mile to try to make things right with a customer. Chad will not refund anything because he is too busy and won't take ownership of situations.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, they totally made our stay here more enjoyable! We loved the variety of food that the hotel offers for their breakfast and sometimes have snacks that the hotel offers throughout the day (fruit, granola bar etc.) Will definitely love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

DO NOT make a reservation at this hotel if there's even a remote chance you can't make the trip within 2 days of your reservation date. I got terribly sick the night before and couldn't make the trip. Called Marriott who made a case file and sent it to the hotel. They suggested I call the hotel and speak with the manager who apparently had the final decision, which I did. The manager, Chad Michael, refused to refund my money and told me that there was no exception that would be made. I will never stay at this hotel again and will instruct my fellow colleagues to do the same as my company spends many days in the area for business.
