Staff was rude and gave generalized comments about the units being up to code when asked about hazardous materials being managed on the property ie: Thermal System Insulation (TSI) asbestos popcorn ceilings. unit 512 2nd floor that was shown had visible signs of damaged/disturbed friable asbestos and when concerns were brought to attention the staff member, they said its up to date with the city and county. Additionally, The fridge door was not able to open all the way due to it being in a tight spot between the washer and dryer. The staff member said they would let maintenance know and talked about there being a walk thru upon move in to make sure the unit was acceptable. FYI- Unless you remove the shutter doors from the in unit washer and dryer your fridge wont open all the way. As we left the unit the staff member then said that she would bring my concerns to the management team about the management of asbestos. All in all, they have no idea of the health hazards they manage at their 1970s property nor do they care about any future residents concerns when the issue is brought up. By law the complex must present a disclosure notice lead and asbestos (during the renovation/and how to maintain in place as to not to disturbed and damage in the future). However if disturbed/damage asbestos is present in a unit, making a claim that it is up to code is negligent to peoples health and safety.
