Chose the place due to proximity to the beach/pier area - very walkable which is great. We checked in & the place is clean looking, but there was a dirt smell to the rooms like the rugs don't get vacuumed. Bathroom layout of all Hiltons are "interesting". We had zero shampoo in the shower so they don't check thoroughly on supplies like that. The most annoying part is that the lights at the door & in the bathroom are motion sensitive, so you turn on the light Every Time you walk by it & that really sucks at night when you & your company are trying to sleep - please disable those things, the light switches are enough. No breakfast available in the morning if that's something you want. Not likely coming back.

Make sure you are downstairs super early. They take down the complementary coffee bar. I went down at 11 am, after sleeping in on my vacation, and the complementary coffee was long gone. Food & drinks: The morning breakfast is expensive, but it is good, and convenient.

The location is okay. It's an easy DRIVE to anywhere. Not necessarily walkable to anything. Rating a 2 because the grounds were nice. The fitness center and pool area were inviting. But the rest is probably closer to a 1 if I'm being honest due to the abundance of noise both above and outside the room and having to have the smoke alarm removed at 5:45AM because it kept going off throughout the night for no reason. Security ended up just removing it from the wall entirely.. The pool is inviting, but if you have a room facing it, people were very LOUD until the closing time at 10PM. My mothers room had issues with the door not properly closing, and the shower head was terrible, but her room was quieter. Recommend to pick a room on the backside furthest from the pool or main road. In the end, we brought these issues to the staff, and they reimbursed parking for the stay and gave a breakfast coupon for our final day. But we will not be repeat customers.

Rooms: King room was spacious as is the bathroom. The The motion sensor lights save energy. Odd number rooms face in where the pool is but not all have a great view of it. Even number rooms face the surrounding area, parking and trees, depending on Nearby activities: Not too far to downtown Monterey, beach, aquarium, and golf courses. Close to the freeway on/off ramps. Golf course nearby: Monterey Pines and Del Monte. Safety: Very safe area. Next to the freeway and roads but didn't hear cars much from my room, facing inward. Hotel is next to a college but seems a bit secluded, surrounded by trees and bushes. Walkability: Close to main Monterey exit but about half a mile from most restaurants/shops. If you like to walk, it's doable and will get your steps in. Bus or e-bike is next best bet if you don't have a car. Next to MPC - Monterey Peninsula College but no issues with noise or traffic. Noteworthy details: Hotel is next to a college but seems a bit secluded, surrounded by trees and bushes. You will hear a lot of birds.
