So far it's been great. They have been really helpful and thoughtful throughout my tour, application and moving-in process. Will come back and update with more comments on living experience. Update 2/21: After living here for almost 2 months, I have some updates. The staff here are extremely friendly, responsive, and willing to help, as always, which is always important to me. They try their best to help and make your life easier within their power. I really appreciate it. That being said, there are two major things that I have problem with. (1) They use fluorescent bulbs across the entire apartment. California has made it illegal to manufacture and distribute fluorescent bulbs and asks facilities to phase them out by Jan 2024. Many fluorescent bulb fixtures require bypassing the ballast to use LED bulbs, so it's not like you could just change to LED bulbs yourself. I asked if they could hire an electrician to help me with this and I am happy to pay for all the bulbs, but they refused to do so. Not only are fluorescent bulbs not energy efficient, they are also a health hazard - they contain mercury and old fluorescent bulbs often emit UV rays when the phosphor coating is worn out. I am disappointed that as a business, they refuse to care for the climate and their tenants' health. (2) There might be some corrosion with my water pipes. I have black water coming out of my shower head (that stains my bath with streaks of black water marks), and in the photo you can see how much black particles my shower head filter captures - this is a new filter used for 3 weeks (I have never seen this before; I could use a filter for a year and they'd just turn slightly yellow - no black color or black particles at all). Pipe corrosion can lead to very dangerous heavy metal exposure for people - this is another health hazard. Pipe corrosion can also cause accumulation of bacteria and mold in the pipe which is dangerous for people like me who are allergic to mold. I am currently working with them on this - will update how they handle this. If they do nothing about this, they truly don't care about the health of people, which is a deal breaker, and I think people should know about this before renting the place.
