    I am a current resident here and will be moving out very shortly possible before lease ends. First and foremost I did like the complex until both my of vehicles was broken into the gated garage and countless stuff was missing from my vehicle. For the amount of money you pay and I pay for the added security of the garage I rather move somewhere else. I emailed the management and havent received anything back. Unless you dont care about your vehicles being broken into every month then this place is great. I am also convinced the people breaking in the cars are living there.

    We recently completely our 1 year lease at Ave 64 and will be renewing our lease as we value the diversity in our building, the accommodations, and most importantly how we are treated by property staff. Our maintenance requests, the few we've had, are fulfilled expeditiously. Everyone from managers to the maintenance crew are very professional. The property is well maintained. It's kept clean and beautiful throughout the year. It's a peaceful community with plenty of things to do around the neighborhood.

    Long overdue review, the fire alarm testing today was my tipping point. The testing caused hearing loss within not only my pet but my neighbors pets. I'm sure others have also been affected. Its great the fire alarms work, but they are unnecessarily and painstakingly loud too- well over 85db! It truly is concerning how piercing the sound is to not only our pets but ourselves, as testing continues from the morning and well into the afternoon, prolonged exposure leaves you with hearing loss and a painful headache (it is as bad as it is in Leave the World Behind, not kidding). This especially affects those with dogs or senior pets. Cars also routinely get broken into in the garage. The garage doors themselves break down once every 3 months, and stay broken/inoperable for the next 3-4 months until they are eventually repaired. Additionally, the appliances within my unit are pretty old and feel poorly refurbished. I wish I had looked at it closer before committing to renting here, but I did thankfully take pictures of all the scratches and marks I found on the dishwasher, oven, refrigerator and washer and dryer (which are pretty outdated IMO; for the amount you're paying in rent, you'd expect something more modern). Also, I've noticed a lot of units facing the water are unoccupied and I wonder why. Seems to me like they're having trouble with renters? Oh, and I've had packages stolen from their amazon hub room twice now. Im curious to see how and if they plan on resolving this. After reading everyone elses reviews, I have it in mind to report essex appartment homes to county and other city/local agencies.

    Shout out to Brayan. Hes one of the few folks I interact with in the Avenue 64 staff that is kind and competent. Hes sadly fixed lot of problems in my unit but does it with intention, care and curiosity (open to feedback and learning more about what a resident needs).
