This Apartment complex practices discrimination. I applied for an apartment because I made 3 times the rent. I was told that one of my sources did not count so I would need a guarantor. I said ok well what about the apartment model that is running a special. Phylis Reid lied and told me someone applied for the apartment but she didnt know that I had just gotten friend to inquire about the same special and she told them it was available. I then told her I was interested in a 1 bedroom. When I received my welcome letter it stated I had to pay 3 times the rent to move in. The welcome letter did not look sufficient and even with the $500 off there were several hidden fees. Phyliss stated every tenant has to pay 2 times the rent if they are not also approved through a third party site to assist with security deposit, this is ridiculous and this is the company way of keeping certain people out and makes it harder for certain people to rent. Was anyone else told they have to pay 2 or 3 times the rent to move in? This is ridiculous the company has the third party site rigged so it can deny you to cover their tracks so they can tell you you have to pay months up rent up front before you can move in. I reported them to the Fair Housing and The Better Business Bureau because I had the income and I have no credit but no credit does not mean bad credit. The rigged up third party site said insufficient income when I had over the income for a 1 bedroom also I reported them to fair housing for telling one person an apartment was available for a certain amount but telling me it was leased to keep me from getting an apartment.

I love living at Stoneridge apartments except for Management not following their own rules in the lease. I can not go to sleep until after 1:00 AM due to child upstairs running, stomping, jumping and falling down. I've spoken with Management about this. She said she warned me about the noise. I never imagined how loud and consistent that noise would be. She didn't say I would not be able to sleep. She still has responsibilities to provide peaceful safe atmosphere to all tenants. I now believe the dog who lives there is playing with the kid and helping make so much noise. Daytime noise would be ok. But not nigh time loudness after 9:00. I wish corporate office could do something about this. Phylis in office is absolutely great at all she does. I could not in good conscience recommend living here.

I lived at Stone Ridge Apartment Homes for about two years while in Mobile for grad school. Overall, I greatly enjoyed living there and had a very positive experience. The complex is gated (which made me feel very secure as a resident), is located in a pretty quiet neighborhood between Grelot and Airport, and is pretty close to most things (Mobile traffic notwithstanding!). I was a quick 15-18 minutes from the USA campus (again, depending on traffic), which made the complex ideal for me as a student. Management was very polite and always quick to listen to/resolve issues. Maintenance were some of the friendliest and most helpful folks I knew, and were always quick to resolve requests. The only downsides to living there during my time was that we had some pretty frequent problems with bugs getting into our apartment (millipedes, roaches, termite swarmers, fruit flies) due to living next to a wooded area. We also had some problems with folks dumping trash and refuse in the woods behind our unit. However, management was always quick to listen to and resolve these issues. If you are looking for an apartment complex to rent with, I highly recommend Stone Ridge Apartment Homes.
