Today I went to the Verizon Company Store, at 3996 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 to trade in my Pixel 3 phone for a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G phone. When I arrived, the receptionist at the door didn’t greet me or ask me what I wanted. This was because her back was turned to the door while chatting with a friend. After a few minutes, I asked her if they had the Samsung Galaxy S21 and she didn’t know, but directed me to the display section to look. The one at the display didn’t have any power for me to examine and I decided to ask the receptionist if there was anyone available to assist me. That was when the store manager stopped by and asked if I would like to make an appointment for this afternoon or wait 30 minutes. Since I had other errands to do, I asked for an appointment. I got one at 2o’clock and before I left, I asked if they had the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G phone in stock. She went to the back and a few minutes later, confirmed that there was.
When I arrived at 2 this afternoon, the receptionist once more didn’t greet me, so I sat down and waited. After 15 minutes, the store manager stopped by me and added me to the queue and told me that I was next in line. After another 10 to 15 minutes, my name was called and I met the sales associate. He got me a chair and asked what I needed. I told him that I was here for the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G phone. It was then that he told me that there weren’t any available and the soonest they could get this phone was Thursday. He also informed me that if I needed one sooner, I could go to Best Buy. He couldn’t be bothered to check the back for one or ask if there was any available. Not once he ask me if there was anything that he could do to help me or try to resolve the situation. The customer service at this Verizon Company Store is horrendous. I didn’t mind that I may need to wait for a phone. What I do mind is that no one cared enough to ask me what they can do to assist me or apologize for wasting my time. Now after 16 years as a customer with Verizon, I’m looking for a new carrier. Worst retail experience I have experienced in a very long time.
