My initial Office visit with him was great! He scheduled me for surgery immediately to resolve an issue I was having for over a year! He has a great personality and his Office staff is very nice!

After my experience with another Doctor 4 years ago, I was hesitant to have a colonoscopy even do I had medical problems.
I asked my Doctor to recommend another Doctor.
Dr Alcantara was very nice and asked many questions about my health, a week later I had my procedure it was quick, I felt very comfortable the nurses were great! The Dr. Explain what was going on, fallow up with an appointment put me on medication . No more pain when I eat. ❤️ I definitely recommend

A bit old fashioned, but as fast as Mario Andretti, a most knowledgeable Dr and Staff including rare to find in SA, of parasite infestations, he and his Staffs common sense, knowledge and flexibility, even during tumultuous Xmas holidays, were critical to my treatment in a medical crisis. I highly recommend him and Dr Prieto for any colorectal issues, and discourage Gastrological Consultants. A great thumbs up for the Baptist Health Network here too!

I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy done with Dr. Alcantara in 2017. I found him to be unprofessional; when I arrived for the procedure there was a young teenager in the room, and the Dr asked if he could observe because he was interested in studying medicine. I felt bad saying no with the kid right there, so I obliged, which I regret. It is completely inappropriate to have a stranger in the room for such a personal procedure, or any procedure for that matter. It makes me very uncomfortable to think about. Two years after the procedure I received a bill from a collection agency, though I did not receive a single bill from the office. I tried to speak with the office staff, and called them every single day for a week. The first person I spoke with told me that the bill was a mistake, that they had opened two accounts in my name and I was subsequently double billed. They assured me that it would be remedied and that I did not owe anything. They told me every time "someone will get back to you today" and they never did. I finally got to speak with a manager who said that actually, I was liable for this amount, and there was no way to get the bill back from collections. I am now dealing with a predatory collection agency, and this will surely have a negative impact on my credit. Again, I did not receive ONE bill from this office. AVOID they are disorganized, deceitful, and unprofessional.
