Law Office of Julie Castillo

I am VERY dissatisfied with Julie Castillo's service. First she tells me its a $2500 fee just to do a simple modification so I hired her in March 2016. Come July she tells me that I need to pay $2000 more because she "thinks" that my ex will fight in court which will result in us going to court several times. She then tells me its just a holding fee that I would get back if this doesnt happen so one agian I pay her which now totals $4,500. Come October I call to find out the status on my case because nothing had been done and I hadn't heard from her since August. She tells me that she couldnt get a judge to sign off to acknowledging that I hired her as my atterney. Julie claimed that this is what she had been waiting for in order to continue mind you its now been 7mths now since I hired her. As soon as I got off the phone with her I went to the court house and was immediately able to get a judge to sing the papers which mind you it only took 5min at the most and even had the office email them to Julies offic. She then tells me we have a hearing in the middle of October with the judge that my case is assigned to. Then that goes by then tells me we are scheduled for the middle of November that didnt happen either. Come the end of November she has a baby. I call the office December 4th to find out when she would be back and they said in January. I get a call in January from Julie saying that we could go to court January 17th or the 26th She then tells me she cant do it on the 17th because she claims she doesnt have any of my paper work ready. (It has now been 10Months since I hired Julie) and she is going to tell me the paper work isnt ready? So we schedule for the 26th I then get a call a few days before the 26th and its canceled. She then says we can do it the 9th or 22nd of Feb. Then tells me she cant because she has court that whole mth with another client. One year later on March 11,2017 we go to court just to be there a hr and a half. We didnt even see the judge. My ex signed the papers and we were done. I go a few weeks later to Julies office to get the new court orders and my refund. She hands me a receipt stating that she charged me $4,300 for her services with a check to me of $200. Which is not what we agreed to and I will fight this in a later date. Now today is June 12,2017 and I still havent recived my court ordered papers. I recived another tex from her today of more excuses as to why she doesnt have them yet!! I am very upset and very dissatisfied of Julie's services and would not recommend or refer her to my absolute worse enemy!!

I have to say Julie is an incredible lawyer! She was practical, thoughtful and gave me sound advise. She also was very honest and empathetic to me and my situation. She handled my case professionally and we were able to settle fairly quickly compared to my past experiences. The one thing I appreciated most of her was that she spoke to me and kept me informed, not a paralegal or some other person. She really is a wonderful attorney and I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone who needs a competent, smart, professional and practical attorney who truly cares about you and doing what is best for you! Also her office is very beautiful, her staff competent and polite and her location, very ideal! Thanks again Julie!! xoxo
