    From the beginning, Hannah was fantastic. I was kind of impatient and rude on our initial call and she never wavered in being nice, respectful and caring. When I arrived at the location, I met DJ. He was just as friendly and polite and respectful as Hannah. Customer service is the most important thing for any business; more important than the product itself. I should know seeing as I am known in the bar and restaurant ownership industry as Diamond Dan: The best at customer service individual in the known Universe!!

    BAD BAD SERVICE! So I made a reservation at this particular Avis/Budget. Of course I was told to bring in identification & a valid credit card, which I did. Once I got there I was told that my card wasn't acceptable. The guy at the desk said my card was a credit building card, which is not true. Credit building credit card is usually secure credit cards which I do not have...otherwise ALL credit cards are technically "credit building" credit cards. Anyway, he went on to say the card needed a physical location which WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??? Does Am Express have a physical location; does Discover have a physical location? My card is a valid Visa (NON SECURE) credit card. I still had the activation sticker on my card but SO What!? I usually keep those stickers on and that's sort of my own prerogative. Once I told him what card it was, he seemed to recognize the company but then he got on the phone with someone and spoke about the color being different. Again, I have to ask...so what!? I was so confused and I really can't make sense of any of it. I have a valid credit card and since when does Avis not accept valid credit cards? It's not a credit builder as he labeled it. It's not secure, prepaid, debit, money service, etc. type of card....it's just a regular credit card and he would have known this had he either listened to what I was telling him or if he simply had tried to run the card! These employees working customer service need to be trained a lot better then what they are because they are using their own discretion to unjustly turn people away which seems to be in correlation with discrimination. Before I left, I asked him for anything in writing stating that Avis does not accept my credit card. He grabbed his phone an scrolled a bit and started looking around the counter as if he would find some document but of course he couldn't find anything because it does not exist. He then wrote down a number for "Jerry" (whomever that is) and regardless of who that is, I don't want to hear Jerry's verbal support for what this employee has done. I simply asked for anything in writing such as; terms and conditions and he could not show anything supporting his discussion to refuse me the opportunity to rent a vehicle. Next I asked his name and he would only give me his initials. I found out that his name is Darryl Johnson and from reading the comments, it seems many customers have been mistreated by this same individual and the photo is from me videoing today's entire interaction. I'm a contract driver and I scheduled the pickup to happen after bringing my car in for a 1-2 day service at my mechanic. Because it was too late for me to get another reservation with a different company, I'll probably miss work tomorrow. DO BETTER AVIS because your employees are towing the line of legal recourse if they keep up with this type of nonsense.
