Hot Yoga Plus Nashville & Franklin

I was visiting Nashville, and decided to stop in and attend a yoga class at this studio. It is a spacious, clean, friendly place, and the class I took was excellent. Noel, the teacher, offered many variations of the poses, so that I could choose the one that fitted my level. I felt like I got a great workout, and the end, where we lay on our backs, was very relaxing, as the fans overhead gave a soft breeze on my face, and the background music made me feel like I was on the beach by the ocean. I would definitely go back again.

Witnessed instructor Janice act rude and condescending toward coworker who seemed to be in training. Will not return.

I attended my first Hot Yoga Plus class yesterday, and was extremely disappointed. To give my background, I have been practicing yoga for about 4 years now, and I have experienced different instructors and practices. The yoga environment that I enjoy the most is a go with a flow type practice. Where the instructor reminds you that where you are is where you’re supposed to be, to love yourself, and if you’re falling down that’s okay. For someone that has never practiced in that type of environment that might sound odd, but it’s a reminder to love yourself, push yourself, and listen to your body. What I fell in love with about yoga is the emotional/mental release and healing abilities that it has. When I come to a yoga class I lay all my stress on the mat and leave it for that hour. I expect to walk into a stress and judgement free environment and listen to my body. What I found in this class was the opposite of that. It was most judgmental class that I have been in, and I feel the judgement came from the instructor. The instructor repeated the instructions the same way each time like she had said it a 100 times before with no enthusiasm or passion. The instructions were very wordy and if I was a brand new student I would have been extremely confused. I would not suggest this establishment to anyone, not to an experience yogi or a brand new student. The facility was nice and clean. The lobby smelt good, but the hot room had an odd, unpleasant scent. Almost like it wasn’t cleaned after the last class.
