It was like the doctor did not understand English, I simply needed a referral to a specialist as I already had a specialist of the same type in my old city. There should not have been any perplexity about which type of specialist was needed. Here's where things get weird: First he said, "Oh, you probably just have a musculo-skeletal issue" and that I needed to go a massage therapist. Well, I guess masseuses are not covered by any insurance company and he couldn't write a referral for that because that's not real medicine.
I have been getting kidney dialysis 3x per week for three years, I think I know what kind of specialist I need to go to.

The following literally just happened to me today: Waited for 30 minutes to get to an exam room saw one nurse, then the nurse left and I expected to see the doctor next and after a good long while, the doctor pokes his head in the room, just his head and not his body, and says, and I quote, "I am running behind schedule and you seem healthy, would you mind if you are seen by the intake nurse today and not by me?" and before I could say anything, he closed the door and went to the next patient.
How much do you want to bet there's a law against that?

I don't see the benefit of making people wait 30 minutes for an appointment where you only get 2 minutes with the doctor and maybe 10 seconds before the doctor cuts you off and starts talking and doesn't stop talking until the moment you're being shooed out the door.
I find that to be the height of bad manners, when someone asks you to tell a story and cuts you off when you humor them with that story. A good doctor listens to their patients and does not cut them off. Forget "doorknob questions" these people don't let you ask question number one, if you get seen at all.

I cannot imagine why the receptionist here thought it would be appropriate to talk about a sensitive test another patient was having done and to refer to that individual as a "fruitcake" because of their orientation. In the 21 st century... just... wow.

Don't even bother setting up an appointment or changing your doctor over, they are not seeing new patients. They officially accept new patients only to defraud the insurance company. If you call, they claim they no longer accept your insurance no matter what insurance it is. Fraud alert.
