The Amy staff made the application process and move-in experience very easy- they were very helpful. The furnished studio apartment has a good layout with extra spaces for storage, small kitchen with nice cabinets and countertop, really decent-sized bathroom and a clean, modern design. Plus, a Murphy bed so you can have extra space when you need it. The common spaces (courtyard, lobby/lounge, and community kitchens) provide options for a change of scenery, and the ability to have a pet makes a big difference in the quality of life. Keycard security, front desk that accepts packages, and elevator to get your stuff upstairs. Good place for college years!

I lived here for 9 months and have no complaints. The studios are very nice. The common spaces are beautiful and always clean. The walls are thick and there are no loud noises at all - I could never tell if my neighbors were there. Everything is new, everything works well, and there’s a good amount of storage space for the size of the place. The people who work here are super nice as well.

I would recommend against anyone moving into The Amy due to the issues that I have experienced as a former resident. Some staff were unprofessional, and the rooms are of low value. They are constructed with cheap material that can get damaged, and also lack air conditioning, which makes the room sweltering throughout the year. The rates for units are extremely overpriced for the value and location. The Amy is also located in a dangerous area of the city, so I feel the need to warn anyone who is considering moving here. I was once almost mugged nearby in the park blocks. The bridge that you need to walk over from here to get anywhere is the location of a homeless camp, where there are about 15 tents. I should also mention that there were large piles of trash near the building, and I once saw a used syringe right outside. Close to The Amy near the park blocks, I had always seen many dangerous characters, most of whom were violent and on hard drugs, so this kind of environment is definitely not suitable for college students. Living here was overall not a good experience for me. Other than this, The Amy is quite clean and modern inside.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here at the Amy. I’m a partner of a PSU alumnus, and we lived there for about a year and a half. The process for applying was easy and the Amy staff were really helpful with the application and move-in process. RAs Isabella and Alex were the absolute best

The good: On the verge of eviction, they let me break my lease and pay my dues over time. You will NEVER find this gracious behavior from any other apartment building in Portland, OR. Because of their empathy, I don't have an eviction on my record. Staff are nice. Alex was great. Shared areas are always immaculate. Cats are allowed, dogs that are ESA are allowed as well. The bad: There is no air conditioning in the units, yet the hallways (which no one spends more than 2 minutes in) are AC'd. There is no compost, despite city wide compost pickup in Portland. The front desk RA's are a mixed bag ranging from fantastic to condescending. People with emotional support dogs aren't held accountable for their dogs poor behavior. Overall, this is the best place you can hope to live as a student, I'm very grateful to them
