I have volunteered at Healing Reins for over 5 years. It is truly a fulfilling and fun experience. We have a wide variety of riders with individual needs. The horses are indeed healers. I encourage  people to volunteer here. If you have horse experience, that is great but it is certainly not necessary.

Healing Reins is a place of grace, compassion and dedication to serving children and adults who can benefit from equine therapy, and for community members who are interested in taking lessons in horsemanship. (Being at Healing Reins for small- group lessons is a special and emotionally rewarding way to spend an hour per week.) As a volunteer and a horsemanship student, I see and experience first-hand the care given to each individual to provide a positive experience. In my experience there, over the last year-plus, I've found the staff and volunteers at Healing Reins to be welcoming, friendly, professional, and encouraging. If you're looking for a flexible volunteer position that can work with your schedule and availability, and you would enjoy learning to be, or are, comfortable around horses, this may be the right fit for you. Training and educational opportunities are offered throughout the year.

A truly special place.  From non-verbal kiddos saying their first words on horseback to physical/mental/emotional healing that happens around these horses.  Healing Reins offers a way to help anyone one wants it!  The number of programs that are offered is truly remarkable.  If you want to just check it out just stop in and someone will be happy to show you around.  Also, there are lots of volunteer opportunities available!  It's easy to get involved and become a part of the magic that happens here.

I am so impressed with the wide range of services that this program offers our community. As a licensed therapist, I appreciate that they offer several services that help people with depression, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Not to mention having an excellent equine team that assists riders in physical & emotional recovery.  The list goes on and on what they offer.  Reach out to volunteer or enroll in services!
