Red Cross makes it difficult to donate. They ask a million irrelevant questions and cancel your appointment without notice. It is unsurprising that their is a blood shortage

I have been donating blood for nearly 50 years, but I am done with Red Cross. What is the point of completing your Rapid Pass, only to be asked many of the same questions when I arrive? Also, it is highly irritating to ask me to repeat my name and date of birth four times in the hour I am there? Your processes are irritating and I am through. I am sorry, because I know my blood donations might help to save lives but your processes are horrible and I don't need the aggravation.

Easy scheduling and prep through through app. The phlebotomists are efficient and nice too.

You'd think that they would make it more easy to donate. The hours that they have make it so so difficult to donate if you have a regular schedule like a normal person throughout the week it's almost impossible, since they don't take people during the weekends unless it's a specific donation type. If this wasn't frustrating already, it definitely is that the past five times I've tried to donate within the last few weeks, they turn me away if I'm in the door even a second after the time they stop taking people. A couple of the times I was told that they stopped taking people 5 minutes after and that there is somewhat of a grace period of 5 minutes. Nope. Again the next time was turned down 1 minute late when they stop taking people. I get that they can't always accommodate outside of certain time perimeters (which they have yet to define since it depends on how they're feeling that day) but the very least they could have done was tell the potential donator that in addition to these "perimeters" that they apparently "don't take walk ins this year" because today when I finally get off work and rush across town - in time - they decide to FINALLY tell me that. It seems like they just really don't want my blood. I asked her why no one told me the last 5 walk ins and she said "it depends on the day". It's all kind of a mess. Maybe better hours? And clear perimeters? That would be a start.
