    My family of 24, ages 1-67, rented this 10 bedroom house (Moonstruck) the week of June 13, 2023 at Nags Head. I cannot overstate how horrible the house and the property managers were.The house was filthy. At the front steps our first indication of the filth was a load of trash, food, used masks, food containers, empty cans, beer bottles, well, you get the picture. Upon entering, the floors had not been swept nor mopped, the 2 dishwashers were loaded and, I suppose waiting for us to start and then unload them. The ice maker was broken in the fridge door as well as the cabinet ice maker. There was a small ice maker on the counter which in no way could keep up. 2 of the eyes on the gas stove made strange noises which made us afraid of using them. The window over the sink had some rot and leaked. The sliding door (an exit) would not open (safety issue). There was dust and dirt all over the living area, as well as fingerprints on the furniture and windows. We called and Twiddy did send 2 people over who stayed less than 10 minutes.We repaired 1 toilet ourselves and cleaned the bathrooms ourselves. The mold was horrible and I wouldn’t want any of my family to shower in them (health issue). The bedrooms were questionable but habitable, other than the one that looked like there was dried sperm on the bedside table!The pool, kiddie pool and hot tub were so dirty you couldn’t see the bottom. For 3 days people came and worked on and shocked the pools, so for 3 days we had no use of the pools.There was a badminton area but there were too many cigarette butts to use it.I could go on, however I want to share information about the Twiddy people. They did respond to my complaint about the filth but it was not remedied. They did send a crew for the pool, but after the first day it was I who dealt with the company in what should be done and when they would return. We just lived with everything else including the trash under the picnic table on the deck and the 2 broken plastic deck chairs (the only deck chairs).I immediately asked for another house, which Twiddy said they didn’t have one.Also, I immediately asked for a discount or some sort of compensation, to that they said it had to go to the review committee. I’ve called and written and sent pictures and today is December 11, 2022 and I have yet to hear from them. I even found the address of the LLC owners and still, nothing.These people represent the worst of the service industry. I paid OVER $20,000 for the week and am beyond aggravation, frustration and disappointment. Never did I think anyone in the vacation industry could be this bad. If I could give zero stars, I would.

    Very disappointed. We rented Duck and Co. 120 Marlin Dr, Duck, NC. We were all excited to get to the house and when we arrived, it seemed like the home was not cleaned after the previous renters left. Several stains on couches and beds. 2 of the 4 decks were unsafe as the wood railings were not secure and deck boards were splintered and/or rotted through. Bugs were throughout the house as no screens were on any of the windows/doors. (We understand that the bugs were an issue here, but with no screens, they were freely entering the home.) The pool furniture was broken and unusable. The jacuzzi was not clean. There were broken bottles around the pool area. Then we found the first roach. We were trying to deal with the other items but the roach was the final straw. We spoke with a twiddy representative multiple times (when we could reach them) to try to resolve these issues either by moving us to another location or by having the appropriate people come and address these issues. Pest control - 3 days after the fact (Still found live roaches after the service was performed) Pool service - Showed on the last day of our stay (Presumably to service for the next renters) Carpenters - 1 day to fix balconies House cleaners - 2 days after complaint was filed The twiddy representative, while apologetic was not very accommodating as we had to reach out to her multiple times just to get an update. At the end of our stay, we were told we had to reach out to Twiddy resolutions team to present our case to see if we would be reimbursed for our issues and lack of resolutions. We were also told not to expect an answer for 6-8 weeks. After not hearing anything from twiddy, we reached out via phone, waited on hold for 45 min, to be told that no one reviewed the file and that they would have to get back to us. When they finally did, we were told the owner of the home is not going to provide any compensation and that twiddy would wave our home service fee of $105, which to us, having wasted 3 days of our vacation; too disgusted to unpack (fearful that we would bring roaches back home), trying to track down a twiddy agent, planning around service visits instead of enjoying a vacation, was not a fair or reasonable compensation. We have stated this to twiddy and have not received a response. I have since spoken to people in my town that have actually stopped vacationing in the Outer Banks for similar experiences. To quote one friend, 'It seems like the people there, just stopped caring.' Hopefully this is not the case because this should be a destination that people look forward to going to and want to spend the money to visit. We are hoping twiddy does the right thing and provides a fair compensation offer and puts more effort into maintaining the homes in their profile.

The window over the sink had some rot and leaked. The sliding door (an exit) would not open (safety issue).
There was dust and dirt all over the living area, as well as fingerprints on the furniture and windows. We called and Twiddy did send 2 people over who stayed less than 10 minutes.

We repaired 1 toilet ourselves and cleaned the bathrooms ourselves. The mold was horrible and I wouldn’t want any of my family to shower in them (health issue). The bedrooms were questionable but habitable, other than the one that looked like there was dried sperm on the bedside table!
