Overall I'm a fan of Glenwood. Lived in my apartment for 3 years. HOWEVER, The new leasing manager is extremely unresponsive. And when you finally call after not receiving an email in response to multiple attempts within two weeks, she says "haven't we already discussed this." Well I'm still emailing about it, so clearly I'm not satisfied. (It should be noted this interaction is AFTER I was in negotiations with the previous person for 2 months, apparently he RETIRED, mid conversation. I get a call asking where my lease is. When I tell them I am in the middle of negotiations with this person, they tell me he retired....that is how I found out)As I am reading some of these reviews, I wish I would have read them prior to moving in because now I feel stuck... since I love my home. Advice: Negotiate the rent as low as possible at lease signing, as they are unyielding at renewal time. They are also PRICED WAY OUT OF THE MARKET being all the way on York Ave. Tenets also put so much money into rent, however there are never any upgrades made to the building. The resident floors (wallpaper and carpet) are very outdated, and the gym and laundry room have not received a face lift since I've moved in 3 years ago. With rents this high, you would expect a roof top, which this building is lacking.I would like to note that the doormen, mechanics, maintenance team and package room associates are always friendly and extremely helpful. One of the only reasons (+ my view) that I consider staying.

Overall I'm a fan of Glenwood. Worked with Marc to find our apartment. I thought Marc was great, very patient, nice demeanor, friendly. Not too pushy. Listened to what we were looking for and showed us a lot of options in our range. Glad we didn't have to pay a broker's fee. Most brokers are slimy, the folks working for Glenwood are not at all.Pros - Brand new renovations apartment, with great views (we're on a high floor) - I love that everything is new in the apartment, appliances etc. Building and lobby are kept clean, neighbors are friendly, doorman are awesome. The staff are great, prompt, responsive, etc. (except for the mailroom, see below)I'm thrilled that the cable TV system in the gym was fixed, it was a diaster with maybe 1-2 channels working that  it cut in and out a ton. They recently replaced the cable TVs boxes. Would be ideal if they could get more channels but I'm happy that the basic TV channels work now.  It's not to see the building manager  listened and made improvements.  Cons - We struggle a bit to control the temperature - most nights we have to run our AC (even in the dead of winter when it's 20 degrees outside) because it's too hot to sleep comfortably.  On the flip side I've had mornings where it's freezing here and I've had to have someone come up to get the heat working.Regarding the comment someone made on the package room, I've raised a complaint about this too. I've had a  number of packages temporarily lost - I've been told numerous times that packages or dry cleaning isn't there when in fact it is.  They seem put off at times when you ask them to look. I'm confident though that they are doing something to improve the quality of service.Last, they need to give more notification when water  is going to be shut off and/or the laundry room is closed. Last notification was left mid day for next morning. If you are working late than you are not seeing this notice until last minute. It should be sent 2 days in advance if it's scheduled maintenance (non emergency). In my case, I couldn't cancel that late on my cleaning lady, so I paid a cleaning lady to come who had no water or access to the laundry room (waste of money that could have been avoided had I had more notice)   They have strict income requirements, no ability to combine salaries if not legally married.   Be prepared to put down a few extra months if you don't make 45x (separate, not together). On a positive note their strictness probably weeds out of some potentially bad neighbors. Overall - a few things that could be done better but I'm happy with my experience here.

Not sure what all these negative reviews are about. I've lived at the Somerset for about 2 years now, and am sad to say that I'll be leaving this summer. The doormen, porters, maintenance staff, etc all do a great job and are very polite and friendly. I've found the rent to be reasonable, and they only increased it 3% when I renewed my lease last year. While my apartment isn't the biggest 1BR I've ever seen, I do have 4 separate closets in my unit, and they're all really good size. Also, my apartment was renovated just before I moved in, with all new appliances, floors, bathroom, etc. Only downside is the long walk to the train, but you get used to it after a while, and at least the neighborhood is excellent (safe, clean, good shopping and restaurants, etc). Will update this review after I move out if I have any issues getting my deposit back in full.

These are expensive apartments to rent in the upper east side. Location is fantastic right next to a good public elementary school and kiddie park & public pool. Apartments in general are roomy with lot of closet space. The buildings are massive and have on site dry cleaning, convenience store and laundry facilities. So if you are looking for a great place for your growing family this is a good choice. The management is alright, but my family has run into a few issues with noise levels from the upper floors. Another downside, no in unit washer/dryer setup.

Absolutely the best management company in NYC! Buildings are so well run, apartments are immaculate and people who work in the buildings are so kind and helpful and all around wonderful. Administrative staff in offices are so wonderful and kind and accommodating to the tenants. I loved living at the Cambridge - only moved  out because we purchased a place and the Cambridge was a rental and we wanted to buy, not rent. The doorman, porters, handyman, super (EVERYONE) in this building are beyond awesome and Freddi and Ron in the office management are the best and nicest people in the industry. Our apartment had just been renovated before we moved in and was spotless and beautiful. Whenever we needed anything at all from anyone, we were taken care of immediately and with a friendly smile. Whenever we walked in the building, the doorman greeted us with smiles, hellos, how was your day and can we carry anything for you at all! I would recommend this building to anyone and would live here again in a heartbeat if  we ever decide to rent again! Also, we didn't pay a brokers fee as you can go directly to them as they have their own leasing offices that you can directly contact!PS- I am not a frequent yelper at all but had to write a review for them because I was so pleased and happy with them....
