This hospital is super attentive with my daughter and took her right in. They showed her they cared and how concerned they are about the pain. The doctors and nurse are highly professional.

This review is for the inpatient rehab at children's specialized specifically on the second floor. A facility's measure of true service is not judged by just fine buildings and structures with designs, It's the service of the staff that leaves a true experience for the patient and family. This is a RACIST facility, they look at your skin color to determine the quality of service they would give to you. My daughter had a hip and pelvis reconstruction surgery and was transferred here from NY since the only other rehab hospital a Westchester had no bed at the time, we got here on 1/31/23 and left on 3/4/23, from nurses failing to give medications on time and leaving her to whine and cry in pain as she was nonverbal, to staffs stealing my child's food that we brought from NY on daily basis, to the PT/OT and speech cutting her therapy time half, to them isolating my child because she was exposed by their own PT, How do you isolate a child that kept coming back negative from the test you administered every other day? I can get it if she was positive but that wasn't the case. The director of Rehab, by name ANNMARIE, is the worst staff anyone can have not to talk of being a director, she's so insensitive and inhumane to a child that has gone through so much, The morning following the night my baby was not served a tray at lunch and dinner, she came into the room and when we reported to her she stated "Well..... at least she got breakfast",like seriously are you for real? that's the best thing that could come out of her dirty mouth! She needs to be fired, She and AMANDA the physical therapist refused to submit the requirements that were needed for the medical insurance to provide the equipment we needed for discharge, they vehemently refused to despite all push from us! refused to follow the precautions set by the surgeon post-surgery and was forcing my daughter down the stairs so prematurely and impacting more trauma to the surgical hip because they needed to pretend they had achieved their goal, All she did was lie against my mum and cut my daughter's therapy sessions into half of the time and when we asked why, she frowned and expected me to take that. The recreation department never came to take my child to the recreation room for play and when I did bring her, they will give us their fake smiles and start acting weird when my child cries, Dr yalamanchi and the NP along with the dir of nursing could not follow up on what was needed, we had to bring our medications from home including commonly used tropical ointments, My daughter did not make any progress for all the period she was there. Security staff would make funny unprofessional remarks as people passed by. Food was terrible and yet when you bring your own homemade food someone steals it from the fridge and when they don't have what to say they lie to you that the food was thrown away by cleaners, how can you throw food that was labeled and dated within the time frame without asking the patients? I would not advise/recommend for anyone to come here given my experience. I had to buy rehab pieces of equipment from amazon as they refused to provide any, I bought the abductor wedge pillow, shoe raise/lift, darco shoes, etc.Terrible and sad experience from a supposed rehab inpatient facility. Now, a few of them were considerate ,and tried to make amends, thank you to nurse shamona, nurse Christina, pct Mckenzie(she was nice), the female PT aide, Pct Carol.
