They just gave everyone 30 days emergency vacate notice and are ordering storage rooms to be emptied. And they still expect full payment for this last month. Thats why I give 1 star, but otherwise have been a very happy customer. Ive stored some misc things for 2 years, paid my rental bill in advance every month. found they have the best customer service, its safe and reliable location. Ive lived nearby (with a few breaks elsewhere) for 25 years. Keepers JC storage building has been a rock solid institution and miraculously survived when other nearby buildings were demolished by nasty, greedy outside real estate developers with no respect for JC or the residents, the areas history, the buildings integrity, and had no vision for renovating the older ones which were in fine shape and could've been made into unique, new mixed use spaces. I fear this may be the case for Keepers JC but workers havent yet confirmed its future. As is theres a glut of poor luxury housing development (some Trump and Kushner money laundering related) and I dread we may lose this cool industrial building and see yet another soulless pointless terribly constructed tower put in its place that will sit mostly empty due to insane asking prices set from non-resident real estate dopes who abuse this great old city. Theyve ruined a sweet downtown in less than 7 years by cramming ugly new too-tall buildings together, leaving no sunlight, no open sidewalks, raw spaces, natural green areas, no sense of its historically important industrial roots. Its just a sad cluster of artificial, tacky, mismatched buildings without purpose or a future, filled with outsiders who dont mix with locals, care about community, just want to be pampered, ride the Path train into the city and pretend thats where they live. To developers money is the only concern, they aim to jam in as many suckers into atrociously designed structures as they can, ignoring the fact JC is an already over saturated area.

Sad they are closing. Have had a unit there for a few years with a family member's stuff. Was trying to figure a way to get it out before that notice even hit. I'll be depised by this old lady if I don't get it. Have to come from Florida on pretty short notice. Trying to figure out to get it done on a very limited budget and of course at the worst possible time waiting for a hip replacement. Appreciate the apologies but this one is a real gut punch. Right now it'll probably take most of my social security check on Sept 3rd... Been asking for help from other family...we'll see I guess...sigh
