me and mybgirl have spent more then two years in hotels motels and holiday inns .and the staff at the courtyard by marriott in downtown Minneapolis is by far the rudest and unfriendly and down right nastys how this place stays in business i do not no they give Minneapolis a bad name take my word on this if they give you a free room run away I would never stay at this unfriendly over price dump you would be better off staying at one of Minneapolis tent city where the homeless have more hospitality

Information on website was not accurate, check in was 18 when we booked it and they changed it to 21 without informing us. Had to scramble to find a new hotel.

I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for two nights. I and my sister were walking in the lobby on our way up to the room around 10:30-11pm on 4/3.
My sister and I both had glass water bottles and she dropped hers accidentally and it shattered. I and my sister spent the next twenty minutes picking up glass shards and trying to clean up the mess.
There was a desk attendant that was present, but he did nothing to try and help and my sister had to literally ask him for trashcan so that we could dispose of the glass shards. We then had to ask where we could get napkins or paper towels to clean the water. While we were cleaning, another individual that was hotel staff appeared at the desk and said nothing nor offered any help.
In addition to this fiasco, when I checked in I was specifically asked if I would like my room cleaned. I said yes. My sister and I returned to our room for about 30 minutes during the morning of 4/3 and saw that the cleaning cart had not reached our room. The maid saw us come and leave and our room was not cleaned nor were our linens and towels replaced.
Because of this following the glass breaking and us cleaning it up in the lobby we had to call the receptionist to request towels. This took 2+ attempts and when I finally did reach someone at the front desk to ask for towels and a bottle opener for our san Pellegrino, I was questioned as to why I needed the bottle opener and then the staff person begrudgingly agreed to bring towels.
When the towels finally arrived the staff person did not greet me but instead said: I had to borrow this bottle opener from the bar so don't lose it. Rather than deal with the possibility of that situation I asked if he could wait and I would open it and give it right back to him so there would be no further issues. He was at the room for a total of three minutes tops, when I walked back to return the bottle opener to him he brusquely walked away without saying anything.
This was the WORST possible hotel experience and customer service experience I have ever had. I will be returning to Minneapolis in a couple of weeks, but I certainly will not be staying at this property ever again.

The little things matter and at this hotel it was the little things that made my one night stay at this hotel a complete annoyance. When I checked into the hotel, I witnessed the clerk go above and beyond to thoroughly check in the well dressed man in front of me. She asked him if he was a rewards member, told him about the hotel amenities, and even came from around the desk to finalize her spiel and warmly welcome him to the hotel. I was extremely impressed until I stepped forward expecting the same treatment and didn’t receive it. Granted, I heard about all of the amenities so I can forgive her not going through the details again, but she never came from behind the desk to make a grand stand, she was not nearly as polite and she didn’t care to ask if I was a rewards member. It was a complete slap in the face. Is it because I am dressed down after just getting off a three hour flight?? Or dare I notice that he was a white guy, and I was a black woman? Either way it was disrespectful. Be consistent.
The second annoyance was returning from an errand. I was greeted by a young man standing next to his colleague at the desk. I replied, saying hello and continued to my room. I hear the other man speak mockingly about me and the two of them began snickering as I walked by. These are not other guests, these are employees. Very rude and unprofessional. Say what you may, but at least have the decency to wait until your paying customers aren’t present.
Finally, I went to prepare for a conference tonight. I need to wash and blow dry my hair. I discover the blow dryer is not working. I call to the front desk to make them aware and ask for another dryer just to be told that there is nothing anyone can do and I would have to wait for housekeeping who doesn’t arrive until 8 in the morning. I have to be at my conference at 7 am. There was a very uncaring tone expressed to me and zero sense of urgency or desire to be creative and help find a solution. The staff could care LESS about my dilemma and made that clear and she kept repeating the same “path of least resistance” response as I asked for other ways to potentially get a blow dryer.
I come to the Twin Cities often, I will think twice before booking with Marriot hotels again.
It was one night, you guys had one job. I can get over the first two things, but really? You couldn’t find a damn working blow dryer in this huge hotel? Thanks for that.

I was told once I got there they charge a deposit of 75 dollars for every day I stayed total of two day . They end up charge me a pet charge even though they knew about the pets.they waited until a day later that to force me to sign contract in lobby .they kept my money and everything and on top of that the room was not clean or anything I have pictures and with corona going on you think they would learn to clean and advise people what they are being charged for upon check in.here’s a picture of a bar tab from some one else staying before us but they said they deep clean.
