Valley Dentist of Belchertown The

We were a few minutes early for my son's appointment and we were walked to the back quickly. However, Dr. Medaugh had me, my non verbal, autistic 5 year old and my son's father waiting in one of the rooms for 45 minutes while everyone was taking pictures with a photographer in the waiting room. Only one woman kept coming back to check on us and couldn't do anything without the Medaugh right there. My son needed a tooth taken out, which never gotten taken out. Horribly unprofessional and extremely disappointed. He also acted like he didn't know who we were after seeing him about a month ago. Which, come to think of it, he wasn't really present for either. Please consider taking your children somewhere else.

The staff was nice but in my opinion I felt the dentist was rough and my jaw ended up being sore after every procedure that was done. The biggest problem I encountered was their billing. I understand that the number I am told I have to pay out of pocket for a procedure is just an estimate but one time it was 300 dollars more! I was upset and explained to them I do not like surprises like that and just a month or so later I got another surprise bill for over $150. I called and cancelled all future appointments, settled my bill, and I will not go back.

When it comes to my teeth, i take the time to research dentists as I am very selective. I actually sent them an email and Cynthia and I corresponded for a day or two before we actually spoke on the phone to schedule the an appointment for a cleaning and x-rays to see just how bad the damage was. On the phone, Cynthia was great. Fantastic personality, she's empathetic to the fact that many people are averse to going to the dentist. So, she reassured me that everything would be ok. I showed up for my first appointment and greet Cynthia. The amazing thing regarding every visit is, the waiting is almost none. They took me right away each time. The appointment went great. The doctor told me what I needed to have done. So, I made the appointments to schedule the procedures. Honestly, I'm not one for writing reviews - but when a place of business makes me feel comfortable with a great bed side manner, they deserve a review. Here's the most amazing part. I checked with many dentists in the area and their prices could not even come close to Valley Dentist of Belchertown. I would definitely recommend them to everyone who is concerned about price and being treated like a person and not a patient. Bottom Line: Great family practice. Regards, Matt
