Horrible! If you want to lose your money with hidden charges go to this company, if not, stay away as much as you can. Even having a reservation already paid, on the day of pick-up they make you wait more than two hours for the end to give you a more expensive car than the one you asked for, pretending that they do not have more cars and on top of that, after you deliver it, you receive an invoice four times. more than the original price, charging you for damages that you did not do and when you make the claim they tell you that the invoice is already done and that they could not withdraw the charges. These men are truly thieves and scoundrels, I will never rent with them again and if you can stay away as much as you can.

Making a reservation does not mean they will have a car for you, nor would they guarantee a car the next morning. If it is first come first serve, don't take reservations. We'll never rent from here again.

Reserved almost 3 months in advance. Went to pick SUV up, they did not have one. Waited over two hours, we decided to cancel. Terrible customer service. They did not seem to care or offer any help to remedy. Now over 3 hours behind schedule. Not a good way to start vacation

I’ve given Thrifty 4 opportunities to do better, and I can honestly say each time was worse than the last. I rent pretty frequently and I typically book through Expedia, then just choose the cheapest option in the class of vehicle that I need. I’m aware that vehicles are not guaranteed (which is a whole other conversation), but accommodation should be made circumstantially based on the wait, the car given, etc. My first experience was related to customer service, and the third-degree given to me once I said I didn’t want to purchase their insurance. I kindly stated I have full coverage on my personal vehicle, and I also have damage protection through my credit card. I was then told that ‘the credit card won’t help you, but okay..’ and also told that I needed to provide proof of my full coverage insurance which I’ve never had to do before. Unprepared, I was rustling through my phone trying to remember my password, and pull up my coverage on my car insurance’s website. As I was pulling it up, Gwen (?) stated ‘I’ll waive the need to see proof.. today..’ THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY. After already being irritated that I was being treated poorly as a paying customer, I then lost my kindness and was not friendly. I told her I didn’t want the insurance, or to pre-pay for gas, or anything else she was going to try to upsell me and then get mad about when I chose not to purchase. After all of this, of course the vehicle I reserved was not available, nothing was cleaned, and I waited over an hour for something to be ready (side-note: but making me an hour late to work - just word to the wise, don’t think it’s going to be an in&out experience.. could be hours). Subsequently, I called Thrifty to complain and they did send me a $50 certificate to use on my next rental. Fast forward to round 4 of the experience that is Thrifty Car Rentals. I reserved another vehicle through Thrifty so I could use my certificate. Get to the counter, tell the customer service rep that I had a gift certificate I’d like to use. She then says ‘oh, you can’t use that here, this is a Dollar rental certificate.’ Soooo, let me get this clear - Thrifty who is owned by Hertz, who also owns Dollar will not let me redeem a certificate that THEY sent me?? Thrifty messed up, sent me a certificate for Dollar, but now won’t let me redeem it at the counter that messed up? I understand the separation of entity, but my frustration lies with the fact that Thrifty sent me a Dollar certificate. Why?? Not only this, but I was taking this vehicle on vacation that day, so I reserved a full-size SUV as I was transporting 3 other people + luggage, beach stuff, etc. What size vehicle did I get?? A compact SUV. I complained immediately but was told that no other SUV’s would be ready until later in the day. Needless to say I was not happy. Naturally you’d think they’d comp the difference in price from the full-size SUV to the compact SUV - they did not. Called to complain, was told that they couldn’t make any changes to charges until the vehicle was returned as this would be when the deposit would be returned and the final charge would be made. That’s fine. When I return, I tell the man the issue, and he says he can’t make those changes at the counter, that I would need to call. I call multiple times at no avail, so I took to Twitter. I spoke with someone though DM, and I was told the price will not be adjusted as the class of the two vehicles is considered ‘similar.’ So why even have two/three different classes of vehicle if they’re considered similar?? That basically just tells me Thrifty/Dollar/Hertz wants to dupe people into paying a higher price for the larger SUV with the ‘catch’ of they’re similar vehicles to the compact SUV (how?? I’m not sure), when in all reality they could’ve paid for the smaller class and just hoped they got a ‘similar’ vehicle that was larger. Business model sucks, customer service sucks, THRIFTY/DOLLAR/HERTZ all around sucks. Save your monies, and rent elsewhere.
