We bought a new 23 Santa Fe plug in hybrid around the end of last year. Car is very nice however it developed a rattle that sounded like it came from deep inside the center console that sounded like a loose screw rolling around. We brought it to Patrick Hyundai in Schaumburg IL to look at the noise. After about 4 days, they tell us that they found a couple rocks in the inductive charger and that was what was making the noise. Charged us $525 for what they called wireless charge port shorted out due to object falling in and will require replacement as well as will need to take apart center console to find and remove abnormal object rolling around. Ive never heard of an inductive charger getting shorted out by a rock as that is a non conductive material. Also, if the rock did in fact fall in as they stated, why would they need to remove the entire console to get it out as you can clearly get to the bottom of the charger through the spring loaded flap. This is pathetic service and an out right lie and theft in our opinion. There was a time I was also considering a Genesis GV70 electrified, but this type of service gives me little reason to trust anything associated with Hyundai corporation. One other interesting item is the two rocks they handed us are very similar to rocks at the dealership as its gone through a remodel recently. Depending on your response, we may be contacting the BBB as well as a lawyer and media to reclaim the funds incorrectly charged.

This was our second experience with Patrick Hyundai and we were not disappointed. Tom Scimeca is the authorized dealer contact that superbly handled our purchase laying out options to meet our need. Tom was a pleasure to work with, extremely courteous, very personable and professional in explaining everything. It is because we have dealt with this dealership before and with the service we have received, that we believe it will continue. Tom was very instrumental in our decision providing answers to our numerous inquiries over several months. Hats off to Tom!
